Miami trade: Highsmith, JJJ
LAL trade: Knecht, Milton
Why for Miami: Add a sharpshooting wing with more cost control to maximize 2027 cap space
Why for LAL: add better defenders at the wings to help win now

I like the concept of the deal but I think Jamie might have slightly higher value than Dalton and Highsmith is worth at least a second rd pick. I think if LA adds a 2nd to this deal it probably gets done. Heat would release Milton to get under the tax and open up a roster spot for a backup big.

Nah. We already took care of the sharpshooting with Fontecchio and Powell. We need the defense Highsmith gives us more than we need Knecht imo

Why would he? jjj was in doghouse last year and struggled. Also has one less year of control left

Fontecchio shot poorly last year and is expiring.. Will you re-sign Highsmith?

I would think we'll try and resign Highsmith, yes. The team loves him. As for Fontecchio, we'll see what he can do here. I'm betting last year was an outlier, but either way, we have Herro and Powell who are fantastic shooters. I just don't live Knecht 's game.
