LAL TRADES: Reaves, Vando, Kleber

DET TRADES: Harris, Ivey

Lakers move some salary for 2026 FA including a Reaves extension..who doesn't fit as well next to Luka

Pistons get another scorer and fits better next to Cade and Caris

Detroit rather needs Harris as a starting PF with range.

I'd argue that the Lakers need to hope Vanderbilt stays healthy. Both to rebuild any trade value and because they really need his defense.

I’m not sure that Reeves fits next to Cade either. Ivey is going to have a great year this year. Pistons need a backup PF. Let us know if you buy out LeBron :D

Would I rather have Reaves than Ivey? I don’t speak for all Pistons fans, clearly, but yes, I would.

But we can’t do this. We’re already trying to shoehorn a lot of athletic and/or defensive guys with questionable shots into our rotation, and putting in another one is a VERY bad idea. Harris is a much, much better fit than Vando. Kleber doesn’t count for anything at this point.

This trade doesn't move the needle much for Detroit. Ivey's upside is higher than Reaves in my view and this would be selling low not to mention throwing in their starting PW and veteran leader.

I agree with this. Also, if we ship off Harris, what FA PF are we even going to get? Amir Coffey? Chris Boucher? Or do we just not play a PF at all until the TDL? Not much out there rn.

I also think that Ivey has a much higher ceiling than Reaves, as well as a much lower floor -- and most importantly, many more years of team control

Yeah because backing up Tobias in Detroit is the obvious destination if LeBron could choose his own place.

I acknowledge Reaves as a meaningful upgrade to Ivey.

But our forward rotation is a wasteland if we do this. Tobias may not be well regarded but he was very important for us last year. And we don’t have another forward with any semblance of range.

A bit of sarcasm there. Of course he’d start over Tobias

The Pistons give up a decent starting PF (and important veteran presence) and a high-ceiling prospect in exchange for a year of Reaves and two useless role players. No offense, but I take it you're a Lakers fan.

Ivey still has a lot to prove, but he's four years younger than Reaves, could well end up a very good scorer, and is effectively under team control. Reaves is at his probable ceiling and could easily jet next summer if he so desired, whether that be from the Lakers or the Pistons; the cap space landscape is projecting as pretty friendly.
