Ill offer this idea for the Lakers to add more bench support in adding DDR as a 6th man

To Los Angeles
-DeMar DeRozan (2 years, $50.5 million)

To Sacramento
-Gabe Vincent (1 year, $11.5 million)
-Maxi Kleber (1 year, $11 million)
-Jordan Goodwin (1 year, $2.3 million)
-2030 1st round pick (1-20 protected or extinguished)

Why?
-The Lakers add more scoring off their bench as they add the 36 year old DDR to become their 6th man. Given the acquisitions of LaRavia and Smart, is makes the need for Vincent and Kleber obsolete and Bronny can play more minutes to displace Goodwin. They can add depth to roster with minimum guys.

Lakers get a perfect 6th man, who plays nightly and produces well. Great vet leader too
Bulls get a prospect
Sac saves $, gets a future 1st and clears $ next year too

Don't think the trade is legal, Lakers don't have enough room under the Apron to fit a 14 man roster.
Regardless, Lakers won't do it even w/o the pick, the last thing they need is isolation offense.

Rui/Kleber would the price for DDR.

DeRozan is super redundant on this team. This ship sailed once Reaves emerged, let alone post-Luka trade.

Derozan is the absolute worst fit for this team with Bron, Luka and Reaves. Rui is a 40 percent 3 pt shooter and hits corner 3s. He also can play the forward minutes to give Bron rest. LA should be looking at something else.

I need more than this for derozan, only 10 million is guaranteed next season so pure expiring and a maybe first rounder isn't enough. I need some sort of guaranteed value.

The guaranteed value is there. And some. DDR off a team that wants to win is enough value in itself and 100% makes the Kings a better team, and then you inflict damage to a rival and get to laugh at Lakers when the ensuing comedy that is DDR defending while also hijacking the offense. Oh it would be glorious. You don't see value in that?
That's without caring who comes back in a trade. And the Kings get a 1st too?

Agree. Lakers should after someone like McCollum with this package.

Gabe+Kleber+DK should bring in another solid defender at least

Thybulle and Rw3 for that package is an option

Lakers dont really to trade for any offense focused bench players. Theyre better off waiting to see how the trade market shakes out and opportunistically use their expirings+draft capital to trade for solid but overpaid 2way players (basically a Wiggins type). With how the market is treating offense only role players who provide minimal D, they seem to be getting bought out/stretched, so might as well wait and see if any pressing holes occur over the course of the season.

Also, if the Lakers werent willing to re-sign DFS to a 2 year deal, i sure as heck dont see them willing to make that move for DDR.

I think if DeRozan were worth a first he would have been traded by now.

Dont get this for LA at all.

They have plenty of shot creation between Luka, Lebron, Reaves and Smart, and should aim for good 3-way roleplayers.

Expirings and a 1st? Assuming no sulky bad apple types come in that we can't cut, the Wiz should take that offer. Middleton probably the better fit in LAL though.

No team trying to win should be looking to acquire Demar.

Nope, that doesn't sound like value. Also that first just dissapears if it doesn't convey in that season. None of the players coming back to the kings have any value, they wouldn't see any playing time.

If we just wanted to dump derozan we could do that at any point by just buying out the remaining portion of his contract. And despite what you think Derozan does have value to the Kings, he may be in the way of our youth developing but it isn't like he doesn't bring us value both on and off the court. His work ethic is serious and that sets a very good example for our younger players. Also at this stage he likely plays a decent amount of back up PF for us this season because I don't see anyone that we would be getting back or anyone on our roster that would be better than him to take those minutes in a small ball lineup.

I just don't get the idea that we should be selling off our players just so our young guys can play, if they are that good then they can beat out the veterans for the starting spot.

As a rule, I'm really down on any first that's protected beyond the lottery. With the play-in, even lottery protected picks are dicey.

That said, there may be some hypothetical scenario where DeRozan is worth a protected first, but it hasn't materialized yet and the chances of it materializing in the future aren't great without long-term salary coming back.

The Kings should do this if the first turns into seconds, but they probably won't because the owner's ego won't allow it. As far as the Lakers, DDR is an awful fit with Reaves, Luka, and LBJ.

His next deal will be 5 mil/year? Doubt that.
