Jazz, Blazers, Bucks

I am not sure where to value some of the draft capital here, so I will leave that for discussion.

Jazz trade Love, K-Mart, Anderson
get Kuzma, Andre jackson

Rationale:
Jackson is a recent draft pick, still on a rookie contract. More of an all-around player, but can be useful and could develop with more opportunity. Kuzma could be this years John Collins, perhaps see if they can increase his value enough to make him worthy of 2 SRP either mid-season or off-season.

Blazers trade Grant
get Kyle Anderson, Kmart, AJ Green
Rationale: Anderson, I am told, is effectively an expiring, so this clears a TON of cap for them as they build around the new players, maybe they can even be a player in FA with Dame on his team-friendly deal.
note: IMO Blazers have to give up draft assets, I know they own some assets of the Bucks, so perhaps making some changes, adding protections etc might be the path.

Bucks trade Kuzma, Green, Andre jackson
get Kevin Love, Jerami Grant

If Love is willing to play this year, then adding him to be a spacing big who can eat some boards alongside Giannis in a pinch is actually quite perfect. Not quite a return to the Wolves, but geographically pretty close.
Grant is the *prize* here and using that term loosely. He can still defend, he was IMO always a scorer more than a shooter, but he will get easy looks on this team.
Do the Bucks still need a point guard? Yes, but front court would be sound and there would be good 2-way players at their disposal.
Note: I would like for them to get some of their Dame trade assets back in here, but removing the 2030 swap for example feels like it would be too rich for Blazers.

You are correct that the Blazers would not give up the swap. I’m fine with downgrading talent of Grant to worse players that make less, but Blazers should retain all 1st rounders they have for trading for actual upgrades. Dump him? Fine. Pay to dump him? I don’t think it helps what they are trying to do unless we are just talking some 2nd rounders. I’d rather have him be a high quality backup forward who happens to be overpaid than use real assets to move away from him.

This is acceptable to me - without any additional picks.

I actually kind-of like the idea of Anderson being a backup to Deni. They have similar-ish playing styles, although Deni is a better version.

Jazz aren't taking Kuzma's contract without draft assets attached. Including Jackson isn't incentive.

Jazz would ask for me than either team would offer here. Martin in on a non-gtd they can just waive for savings, Love likely takes a buyout giving up most of his salary since he will get it back on a min deal somewhere. Anderson likely has a good shot of being flipped for a 2nd(s)/expiring. I think the odds of Kuz being flipped for value ever are very low, and I wouldn't want to pump usage into him to try to build up his value.

I think a direct trade here is better if Portland is interested in turning Grant into smaller/shorter contracts and Milw wants Grant.

Not including Green to go from Kuz contract to Grants.

I think MIL can keep Green here and I would add like 3-4 SRP to grease the wheels - but am unwilling to attach a FRP to get off the Grant deal - and assume UTA would demand a FRP.

Not interested in this as a Bucks fan, would rather keep Green.

As a Jazz fan I want all three of those guys gone asap. But taking back worse salary is not in the cards.

MIL will want to keep that FRP. Don’t really have any other trade assets.

This is an easy pass for the Bucks. Even without sending out Green, that $100 million of Grant is gross.
