Charlotte trades 2026 1st (top 5 prot until 2027, unp in 2028), 2026 ORL/MEM 1st (worst of those, PHX/WAS technically), 2027 DAL 1st, 2029 1st worst of UTA/CLE/MIN, Josh Green, Pat Connaughton, Tidjane Salaun, Nick Smith Jr, DaQuan Jeffries

Sacramento trades Sabonis

--

Sacramento kicks off a proper rebuild with 4 1sts, and near complete cap relief for Sabonis. Only Green ($14.7M in 2026) is owed anything past this season.

Charlotte completes the lineup with a great center who can be a great playmaker with Melo
Melo/Sexon/Miller/Bridges/Sabonis
Mann/Kon/McNeeley/Grant/Moose

* to be done 9/7 when Pat C's trade restriction is lifted

That Charlotte defense would be awful. It might be better to back up the truck like this for a big who can defend. Bam maybe?

Hard to see one of the worst teams in the league last year trading 4 picks in september for a roster whose best player has been injury prone his whole career

I'm not against trading Sabonis at all, but I'm not a big fan of this one. Literally no upside here.

Charlotte pick is top 5 protected.
Orlando Memphis, don't really understand this? Is it worst of which teams? if its orlando, memphis, you are looking at a pick in the mid 20's.
2027 Dallas 1st feels lucky to be late lotto but more likely in the late teens/20s.
2029 worst of, again not loving that.

Then the players are pretty much just a collection of bad salary. Not a single really intriguing piece here.

And for what it's worth I don't think Sabonis is worth the world. But I'd at least want one upside pick/player that has a chance.

I don't like Sabonis as the target for the Hornets. That aside, I don't think the Kings go for the top-5 protection. Maybe just offer the 2017 unprotected instead.

The Hornets front office is not behaving like a front office that's worried about winning this season though so I'm not sure anything like this is going to happen.

A great fit if he became available. Might require more than Sabonis, but it would be worth it. If they truly are building around LaMelo and Miller, then putting Bam in the front court solves so many problems.
