White for Ivey, plus Chi gets a 2027 unprotected pick swap option

Det is win-now, and they could REALLY use White's shooting/scoring. Beasley was huge for them last year, and White can provide the same spacing, plus he is a great secondary scoring creator next to Cade. Plus, he's still young enough to grow with their core. Of course, Coby will want a big deal next summer, but so will Ivey.

Chi takes a step back, to build for the future. The pick swap probably won't materialize, but you never know. Cade gets hurt and Det is back in the lottery. I would prefer it to be a 2026 swap, but assume Det wouldn't, with the top of that draft looking so good. Plus, in this deal the Bulls save $2 million this year-always important in Chicago. Bulls go with
Okoro/Jones/Ayo/JCarter
Giddey/Ivey/Ayo
PWill/Huerter/Terry
Matas/Noa/Phillips
JSmith/Collins/Noa
Bulls also trade Vuc to Char. They focus on youth, speed and defense. They'd have tons of 2026 cap space, plus all their own picks and the Port future 1st and the Det swap option. Finally, this is a tank move a bit-hoping that the Bulls slide back to the mid lotto, from our usual Playin spot

If Ivey gets back fully healthy I don't see him that far off of White. Add in youth and RFA vs UFA status at year-end and Detroit wouldn't remotely consider this even without the (IMO homeriffic) pick swap option.

IMO Chicago is better off just keeping White. We've seen what the trade value for guys like Sexton and Simmons is and while I have White as a little better it's only a little. That means that:

He'll probably be reasonably priced to retain and
There's no great trade value lost if he walks next summer.

I don't view White as having much value.

I thought Sexton was better and we saw what he went for.

This trade is pure delusion. White is definitely more of a PG than what Ivey is but talent wise they really aren’t far apart plus Ivey is younger. I’m not even sure I’d do a straight swap and you want to include a pick swap? Yeah no thanks.

Debatable talent comparison aside, the RFA vs. UFA status is everything here. No way Detroit risks this even without the swap.

Yeh, White is a bench guard. I'm not sure he's worth either of these assets.

I just don't see Detroit trading Ivey now unless he is part of a trade to acquire a real star. Even then.... As good as White may be he isn't this.

What?

Everything about this post is wrong. As the team's offseason decisions and Trajan Langdon's own words have made very clear, the upcoming season will continue the focus upon development. The team already signed Robinson to replace Beasley. White is who he is at this point, and he would not move the needle for the Pistons in any meaningful way. Ivey is unproven, but he's got higher upside.

I believe that you are spot on the point. White is more of a 1 guard. Pistons don’t need White. I’d also question why an unprotected first needs to be added. The value on talent is close but with age, RFA v UFA status, and natural position fit for the Piston. I’d simply pass. I’d also pass if it was Ivey for White plus asset. Just doesn’t work. Also don’t want to pay White 25 plus when we just paid Levert & Robinson the amounts for 2025.
