BRK-Bos-Chi-LAL

Post#1 » by pipfan » Sat Jul 26, 2025 5:03 pm

Chi sends Vuc to Bos and DTerry to BRK
Chi gets Kieber, Vincent, Knecht

BRK sends a fake, not-to-ever-pass 2nd somewhere
BRK gets DTerry

Bos sends Simons to LAL
Bos gets Vuc

LAL send Kieber, Vincent, Knecht to Chi
LAL get Simons

I think the Lakers could really use a guy like Simons, to play off Luka/LBJ

BRK gets a look at DTerry-their roster could use a guy like him. He's cheap and expiring, so no big investment

Bos REALLY needs a C, and Vuc plays nightly. Of course, they save $6 million here, plus a bunch in tax

Bulls probably make out too well here-maybe they send LAL 2 seconds? They buyout Vincent or JCarter and get a cheap shooter in Knecht

Boston doesn’t really need a Center this year, they aren’t going anywhere. They need one next year when Tatum is back. Vuc will be 36 in 26/27 and a free agent. I don’t hate the trade idea, but don’t love it either.

Lakers easily pass.

Dont think they need to bother with adding another dedicated scorer who doesnt provide anything else, everyone just needs to be able to play off of Luke/Lebron/Reaves playmaking, 2 of whom are always on the court. Vincent might provide some decent defensive guard play, Kleber is a stretch big who might have some juice left providing offensive spacing, Knecht is a cheap sharpshooter who might develop into something more, all these guys have roles they can fulfil in a competent manner, instead of risking it all on Simons who can provide some more scoring. Lakers should just be focusing their touches to Luka, Lebron, Reaves, Ayton, and some to Rui. Simons isnt good enough to justify adding him to the mix and reducing potential roster versatility.

I think Bos will still be a playoff contender-it's easy to say they should tank, but this is the Celtics-a group with a lot of pride. Vuc could really help them

Lakers cut Boston out if they sending that package out instead of getting another wing scorer.

They aren’t winning it. Better to get Queta the experience and see what he can do. They are looking to 26/27.
Vuc might be a guy that they could keep for 26/27, but I think they could do better.
I really think if they were looking to add another center this year, they would have done so already.
I think if they trade Simons it will be for more significant Salary relief or for a player that better fits Tatums timeline than Vuc.

Why do we want Simons?

We have a ton of ball handlers

2 main needs

1) Backup C better than Hayes or a floor spacing C. Rw3, Goga, or someone like Reath
2) Wing defender or another POA defender. DJJ, KCP

Next need would be a sharpshooter if we wanted an elite floor spacer, but this doesn't help the defense
