Toronto enters the season with one of the more inbalanced rosters in the league. The core guys that need to get moved are RJ, Ingram and Barnes. Maybe not all three, but some combo. Below are suggestions for each.
RJ Barrett Deals:
Phoenix: RJ Barrett for Grayson Allen (expiring) + Nick Richards (expiring)
Phoenix needs a secondary playmaker; Barrett adds scoring punch
Toronto gets shooting (Allen) and much-needed rim protection (Richards)
Brandon Ingram Deals:
Detroit: Ingram for Tobias Harris + Ausar Thompson
Detroit pairs Cade with a legit scorer; Toronto gains 3&D vet + high-upside wing
Scottie Barnes Deals:
San Antonio: Barnes + Agbaji for Harrison Barnes + Keldon Johnson + Stephon Castle
Spurs consolidate talent next to Wemby; Raptors get PG of the future in Castle
Portland: Barnes for Jerami Grant + Donovan Clingan
Portland has big depth (Williams III, Hansen, Reath); adds franchise forward in Scottie
Alt: Barnes + Agbaji for Grant + Scoot Henderson + Reath
Scoot becomes lead guard in Toronto; POR balances guard rotation

I agree that Toronto needs to do something different. That being said, leave Detroit out of this deal. I know everyone over values their own players, but I wouldn’t give up Ausar for Ingram straight up.
Ausar could be DPOY someday, is a freak athlete and can guard almost anyone anywhere. And on a rookie deal.
What exactly is Ingram? An injury prone, overpaid scorer who doesn’t play D?

Toronto owes a lot of value to Phoenix.
Ingram shouldn’t be viewed as a positive asset.
Barnes isn’t netting last seasons ROTY.

First, Toronto isn't admitting failure before playing any games. They'll wait a half-season at a minimum and probably more.
Second, you are wildly overrating Ingram with that Detroit trade.

The Ausar trade is the only intriguing one in my opinion.
Rather have Scottie than Castle, but I understand why others might not.

You would probably have to pay to dump RJ and BI.
Barnes could net a good return though.

I think Barnes to Det could be interesting after this season if Toronto falters.

Toronto says yes easily to that Thompson deal even though he's a bad fit with Barnes and CMB. The Suns deal is good if Toronto feels like resetting from RJ. Grayson Allen is such a dirty player though it would be hard to cheer for a guy like that.
The Portland Doup Reath and Henderson is awful for Barnes, Henderson I get it's 22 but he's not shown why he was a top 3. I don't want to make him part of that deal. Doup is a 29 year old who honestly might not be better than Mogbo.
Castle I'd consider but Quickley would have to be moved and your embracing a total rebuild for the next 3-5 years

The most likely trade candidate is Jonathan Mogbo.
He will have sneaky good trade value as an athletic bustle big on a rookie contract. It’s very possible he will be packaged with RJ to net a better offer than RJ alone.
I think a 3 way with Phoenix-Toronto-Golden State would be interesting:
Phoenix: RJ Barrett
GSW: Nick Richards
Toronto: Podz, Grayson Allen (rerouted?)
Suns get their scorer, Warriors get their big, Raps get a good PG prospect

I’d rather have RJ than Allen, and Richards sucks.

That deal does nothing for Toronto. Keep RJ and bring him back on a cheap short term deal.
Poeltl / Mogbo
Barnes / CMB
Ingram / RJ
Agbaji or Dick or Walter / RJ
Quickely / Shead
Just play the guy who emerges and then consolidate the others along with salary (RJ or Poeltl) for an upgrade.

There's a better chance a modeling agency asks me to walk the run way than Detroit trading Ausar for BI

I am sort of in middle. I think in January, Det should offer a mid protected first for Ingram. But not Thompson. And if there’s a first, not Holland either? Like Harris, Reed, protected first that rolls overs?
Portland should be interested in Barnes imo. And should pay a lot. Camara gets 26-30mpg off bench and you have two good fitting forward starting together.
I think their offer is pick based, Scoot or Sharpe not Clingan though. And if Toronto is shopping Barnes, they’re likely looking at an actual tanking rebuild. So they’d be happy to get picks.
RJ - I think Allen is a minor asset and RJ isn’t? I’d have Toronto owing a couple seconds there with/without Richards. And I’m not even sure if Phoenix has the apron space to do that deal (I don’t think they do)
I was told it was terrible for Toronto before but I still like it..
Kuzma + Toronto 2nds + 2028 Mil swap (it’s already watered down) to Phoenix
Allen+Richards to Toronto
RJ to Milwaukee
Or if Toronto has a cheap prospect they don’t like much but Phoenix does? Or Phoenix adds minor value to get that prospect instead of getting seconds? Just bad ideas*

I think that if the Raptors manage to win 40 games, it will be due to Ingram. He's a guy who can pair well with IQ (who can provide spacing) and possibly Barnes (if he plays as more of cutter and closer to the basket).
Move Barrett to sixth man and start Agbaji with the hope that he can maintain his 3p% on a higher number of attempts. If they recognize the strengths and limitations of the current roster, you can squint and see a sixth seed in a depleted East if they're healthy.
Conversely, if they continue to start Barrett, Ingram misses a bunch of games, Barnes continues to try to prove he's a No. 1 option, Agbaji can't maintain his 3p%, or seeks to protect it, I could see it being disaster pants.
Anyway, I have Ingram, and who they surround him with, as the keys to the season.

I think Ingram will be key to whether we can be 6th seed or higher, but just by not tanking and resting as many players we should be in the 38-42 win range even without Ingram

LOL - leave detroit out of this hot mess. We could have had ingram for a mediocre 1st if we wanted him, and that was before he got overpaid.

Hes paid less per percentage of the cap than before his extension. If you didnt think he was overpaid before then why is he suddenly overpaid now?

I’m sure he’s talking about the new contract Ingram signed w Toronto. His Pelicans contract was for much less.
