Out of the Box Big Dal/Philly/Cha/BKN - AD&PG

Somewhat inspired by BJAX's trade

Dallas Gets: Jared McCain, Tidjane Salun, Terrance Mann, Pat Connaughton, 2028 LAC FRP (via Philly), (2029 Philly FRP or haul of seconds?)
Philly Gets: Anthony Davis, Jaden Hardy
Cha Gets: Paul George, Omax
BKN Gets: Miles Bridges

Dallas does what any sensible team winning the Capture the Flagg lottery would do, pivot. This trade allows them to reset with a core of Flagg/Lively/McCain, get additional draft capital, while saving an exorbitant amount of money. They'd have to do some roster trimming after, but they can also explain to Exum part of the reason we're trading AD is we don't want guys who miss more games in a season than there are days in a month, so guess what? You're out.

Philly turns PG into AD. Davis has whined countless times about playing center, so with Embiid and Drummond, he does not have to. VJ will take over McCain's spot and is likely the better fit next to Maxey anyway.

Brandon Miller gets his GOAT to play alongside and learn from. Cha isnt giving up anything of value here, just taking on more money, but PG's vet experience could be beneficial for the young core

BKN trims the extra year of Mann for the bigger contract of Miles. They drafted a surplus of guards, so Bridges and Porter can round out the frontcourt with Claxton. Still tank mode.

Is it way off beyond repair, or can a couple of tweaks get it there? If so, what should be added?

Philly once made a big investment in a center to play PF next to Embiid. It didn't work great. And add in the huge injury risk to Embiid and AD and I don't think I'd want to push in to try and make it work this time.

And if this is all AD returns, Dallas should just cross their fingers.

If the Sixers have confidence in Embiid being able to return to basketball at a high level in a Kawhi type of way (heavily load managed all season), I can see it. AD would have to play center quite a bit (Drummond is not a viable option next to him IMO).

If they believe there's only a slim chance of him getting back, I think they just ride out the current team and remain in 2 timeline territory.

If they think he's done, they just take the get out of jail free card from Charlotte here.

I'm not a Charlotte fan, but I just can't see them swallowing PG13 without a truckload of compensation

George is owed another $162M for 3 years, while Bridges is owed $48M for 2. I've got PG13 as having a much, much worse contract.

Charlotte isn’t doing their part at all.

And I’m really low on Bridges

if Philly feels like chipping in VJ Edgecombe, maybe you got something

(spoiler alert, they won't)

I'm on a roll with these complete misses, but great feedback overall. I wish i could use it to churn out some better trades, but my dislike for Anthony Day to Day has caused me some sanity

There’s no realism at all here on my part but..

AD, PJ, Klay, Martin to Philly
Gafford to CLT
Pat Con and Dallas 2nds to 4th team
McCain, PG, Joel, 2026 Orlando first, 2028 LAC first, 2029 Philly first (has a swap with LAC, so probably roll over protection?) to Dallas

Some other stuff has to go into it, but not worth drawing out really. But it’s possible at least.. Probably just look at trading Hardy to Philly for a vet min or two? Eh.

Tell Joel and Kyrie we will see them in September 2026 and hope Joel connects with Balls doctor. Hopefully AJ or Peterson or Ament joins McCain/Flagg

Philly is better off just playing it out though no matter the value.. They wouldn’t be a contender and wouldn’t have picks or cap space. Maxey/VJ/Oubre/PJ/AD is a good team, but not good enough to justify it.

No from Brooklyn.

Off court stuff aside, we don't want to swap Mann for Bridges. We like than Terance is from Brooklyn, we like his on ball defense, we don't mind his extra year of salary. Moving him for Miles without serious incentive would not happen.

Is there maybe something here around Embiid and Maxey for Gafford, AD, Thompson, and Martin?
