* Kuminga signs for roughly $27-33M a year. Didn't do the exact math but it should be in the ballpark of $30M to work with BYC rules.
* Celtics currently own two 2026 2nds. 2026 second round draft pick from Orlando, Detroit or Milwaukee (most favorable) and 2026 second round draft pick from Minnesota, New York, New Orleans or Portland (most favorable). They send both of these picks to BRK.

- Warriors get two rotation contributors out of Kuminga and a couple of fringe prospects. Assuming the rumors of Horford and Melton are true, they have a rotation of Curry/DDV/Hield/Butler/Dray+Melton/Moody/Hauser/Horford/Post
- Kings get their wish of Kuminga without sending a 1st. LaVine/DDR/Murray/Kuminga/Sabonis + Schroeder/Ellis/[Clifford/Jones/Raynaud? i have no idea]
- Boston gets all the way under the tax and stops their center rotation from being a crippling liability. Pritchard/White/Brown/Boucher/Vuc + who knows
- Chicago takes a flyer on a first round pick from last year at the cost of some salary being eaten and the downgrade from Vuc to Simons.
- Minnesota adds an explosive 6th man scoring in Monk, who can also playmake a bit. He starts and closes but plays most of the minutes with the bench. Ant/Monk/Jaden/Randle/Gobert + Dillingham/Shannon/Clark/Naz
- Brooklyn utilizes all their remaining cap space to stockpile a few more picks, CHA and NOP 2nds should both be in the 30s and Conley can probably be flipped to a contender.

It’s a lot but believe it or not it’s actually balanced and meets the (alleged) needs of all the teams involved.

I think it’s a financial problem for the Warriors, who are taking back $22M in salary in Hauser and DDV (plus they’re trying to keep all contracted for only 2 years, where Hauser’s runs for 4, but I doubt that’s a big problem). Not sure they can take back that much with Kuminga’s BYC status, without triggering aprons which would prevent some of the FA signings.

I wouldn’t mind the deal on a talent / fit level for the Warriors, but not sure it works financially. If it did, the Warriors would have a sickly scary 3-point shooting team (aside from Draymond and Butler, of course…..)

One note is that the Warriors would still have Podziemski (not listed in the rotation), and I doubt the line-up would be as listed, but that’s not material to the trade.

I don’t like it for Boston. Yeah saves some money but at the cost of 2 seconds and Hauser I don’t think it’s worth it. The Celtics are better off giving PT to Queta to develop him for when Tatum is healthy.
No need or desire for Vuc. Especially at that cost.

Celtics will insist on someone taking Saric, which should be workable.
Bulls and Wolves say yes IMO
Nets will say no I think, I'd route 2 2nds to the Bulls, and POR 1st to the Nets, or replace the Nets with the Wizards, who have exception to facilitate such deal.

IMO - I wouldn’t trade DDV for Monk. Also, Conley basically has a gentleman’s NTC with the Wolves front office.

Maybe you do some half brained rationalization that Giddey starts at the SF and Dosunmu starts at PG, the problem with that is the Bulls just traded for Okoro to plat the SF, Patrick Williams no matter how many people think he sux is signed for the long term so they might as well play him. You send the Bulls Jackson-Davis who from the stats looks like he could possibly develop and contribute off the bench


But no you go ahead thinking they want to get rid of Vucevic and J Carter that bad to end up with only 2 part time centers

Like it from the Warriors perspective. Don't understand it from the Wolves giving up DDV and screwing Conley just for Monk

You're right that the Warriors need to send out more salary, they can't afford to be hard-capped at the 1st. Maybe Podz.

I don't see the Wolves having much interest in a DDV for Monk trade. I see them as a fairly similar caliber of player, with the biggest difference being Monk making quite a bit more and having an extra year on his contract.
