AD to South Beach with a little Magic
Miami gets: Anthony Davis, Caleb Martin
Orlando gets: Bam Adebayo
Dallas gets: Jalen Suggs, Terry Rozier, 2026 Orl FRP, 2029 Mia FRP
Miami gets the best player in the deal and a familiar face. A lineup of Herro/Powell/Wiggins/AD/Ware coached by Spo has a real chance in the decimated East. Losing Bam hurts, but as good as he is, he'll never be the level of player AD is on both sides. Orlando solves their big man problem, Bam also has some playmaking skills at the 5 so their lack of a true PG is less of a factor. Dallas gets a young star who fits like a glove with Klay temporarily and Kyrie moving forward. They recoup picks they should have gotten in the Luka trade but Nico is a nitwit. Rozier is just there to make the money work.

Re: AD to South Beach with a little Magic
Orlando doesn’t have a pick to trade no?
This will also create a very expensive center log jam w/ Carter/Goga/Wagner all still on the books.
Lastly, not sure why Miami does this. Even if Bam requests a trade there will be better trades out there.

You rate AD a bit higher than I do. I have the younger, healthier, Bam worth more than the aging, injury prone, Davis not less.

Re: AD to South Beach with a little Magic
AD is the better player but I think Bam is worth more. 4 years and health is worth a lot
Orlando part.. I can’t see them wanting to make their team unaffordable by taking on a true max in place for Suggs’ contract that makes paying Bane/Franz/Paolo possible…
but I do think Bam is worth more than Suggs, so value is probably right.
If Miami wants AD, I’d try to look at Terry, Wiggins, Ware, Jaku, other stuff for AD and Naji?
Seems like you could build that pretty easily and get a good asset for Ware and a meh one for Wiggins.. or keep him and decide between him and Lively in the next 12 months.

Yea thats probably better, just not sure how to flesh it out.

I don't get this for Dallas, and I must be missing where they are getting a young star in the deal. Also imagine selling this to the fans... "We know you all were upset about the Luka trade, but don't worry, we've acquired Jalen Suggs, we're really excited about the possibility of getting 50 games out of him this season..."
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I’d hope we get 0 games out of Suggs or Kyrie this season personally. Lively/Flagg/Suggs and any of AJ, Peterson, Ament with PJ/Kyrie as the vets would take Dallas through the pick debt nicely and maybe turn into something..

Yea thats probably better, just not sure how to flesh it out.
To try a quick one?
AD and Naji to Miami
Terry and Hardy to Brooklyn
Mann, Wiggins, Ware, Jaku to Dallas
Figure out the rest.
It sounds weird but I really don’t think AD/Bam/Herro is a contender, so I don’t think Miami should do it. Also, I don’t see how they get a better player than him, so undecided. If that’s not good enough, they probably should just be trading Bam and retooling. But that’s not Miami style, so meh. Probably no deal there honestly.

Actually dont think Dallas should owe Naji here, maybe Martin. And Id imagine both Mia and BKN owe Dallas picks, no? Or my homer take?

Orlando gets cut out so fast. If AD for Bam+stuff is a viable trade on the Heat side, that's far better than this.

I don’t think Brooklyn owes anything really. If Dallas doesn’t want to shave the salary this season by taking on the long term contract, it’s easy to just dump Powell or someone else and keep the gambler. Probably a better idea honestly to reset the books.
As for Naji vs Martin. Maybe. And Miami owing more? Yeah, I agree.
I just don’t think the Miami team is good enough to justify it.

Re: AD to South Beach with a little Magic
magic cant do this..bam next yr will make 20 mill more then suggs yr after bam makes double with suggs declining deal..while over 2nd apron paying not sure how many times 20 mill is it 4 x? so is that 80 in tax plus 50-60 for bam? lol
magic do not have 26 1st...would have hole at guard in starting lineup and way to many centers

Yeah I think a team like the Hornets are a better destination for Bam. AD goes to Miami. The pick haul gets split between Dallas and Miami with matching filler to Dallas.
The problem is Nico has to get fired first because the entire basis of the Luka trade was to build a more competitive postseason roster and they just reupped Kyrie. Organizations reevaluate, but it will take Dallas being pretty bad well into the regular season.

Re: AD to South Beach with a little Magic
I agree that Orlando should just be removed. I disagree that Bam is more valuable than AD, AD is just a different tier as a player, so I think you accept the issues that come with building around him. That said, I am not sure Miami really has the assets to build a contender in the window they'd have with Davis, so they may be better not doing it, anyway. It is at least interesting to think about, though.

No thanks for Miami. Not interested in AD unless he gets bought out, which he won't.

Yeah agree with you. Davis is a tier or two above Bam as a player. Davis can control a game on both ends.
Davis at same age as Bam was 8x AS and 4x All-NBA, Bam is 3x AS.
But as others point out, injuries and age probably makes a Bam for Davis swap fair.

Re: AD to South Beach with a little Magic
Unpopular opinion, Bam is only a good, and not great player, which is fine....except he has a very large contract.
As a fan team that is trying to win, I would want my team to trade for AD, but I would not trade for Bam.

You'll enjoy 50 games of AD sitting in a suit. Have fun with that.

Indeed I would, but the impact difference is so extreme....if I only had AD every other playoffs, I would still take that over having Bam 90% of the time.

It's a good point. A potential contender with both on offer will pay more for Davis.
