DeRozan and 2nds to Utah

SAC trades: DeMar DeRozan (bought out), 2026 SAC 2nd, 2027 SAC 2nd, 2029 DET/MIL/NYK 2nd (least favorable), 2032 SAC 2nd
UTA trades: Jusuf Nurkic, Svi Mykhailiuk (or Kevin Love)
Sacramento cuts a bit of salary this year and next. They can release Svi or Nurkic and sign Westbrook. Svi's future years are ung.
Utah gets a bunch of 2nds to take on DeRozan's $10 million gtd. next season. DeRozan moves on to a contender.

Spotrac has Jazz at about $95M in salary if they waive SloMo next year against the $165M projected cap. Kessler extension presumably eats into that. They'll also have their existing picks to sign.
I feel like locking in that $10M of dead money right now for 2nds isn't worth it for Utah. This is probably fine value, arguably even an overpay in assets but a bunch of 2nds are, big picture, meaningless to Utah and who knows what deals that $10M of dead money might juuuuuuuust squeeze them out of next year with their cap.

I don't see the Jazz settling for SRPs for taking on $10MM in future money. Maybe if there's a prearrangement for DDR to take a significant cut to be bought out immediately, but even with that less than 30% of the buyout comes off next years money.

The kings have the ability to sign Westbrook right now, we don't need to make a move to be able to offer the contract. We need to move a couple guards(monk) if we want to add him, however I really don't want to sign him.
Also Scott perry really likes derozan as a culture setter and wants to keep him, he has made no effort to move derozan.
I would like to move derozan but ideally for a forward not a.center.

I think a couple of those seconds are tied up in the OKC trade at the draft.

Realgm needs to update the picks page, then

I cant wait for Demar to be off my team. But no way swapping him for Nurkic nets 4 2nds lol. He's at least a valuable player who may have some slight value to a contender at the deadline. 10 million next year sucks but is what it is. In this 2nd apron economy 2nds are worth too much to be tossing around like this imo.

I think the 10 million is worth 2 of the sac 2nds and the bad 2nd, plus the savings this year is worth something. Tbh I am not sure DeRozan is a valuable player, if teams were interested and were even offering expirings I think he would be gone.

The value is about right. 2nds get sold for 2-3 million so taking on 10 million of bad money should be worth about 4 2nds.

I would have thought you were right, and I'm fairly certain there isnt a big market for him right now. But I also think there's been at least 1 Demar for expiring swap that's been rumored basically all summer in Sac, and the consensus has been Perry likes Demar and would rather move Carter/Monk
The thought is a team who needs a consistent scorer off the bench towards the deadline will pay more. I don't agree, and if an expiring was on the table straight i'd definitely hope the team would take it. But I don't trust the Vivek braintrust to make the right decisions.

What contender wants to ruin their offense by having DeRozan launch a thousand midrange jumpers?
Like I haven't even heard a single rumor that good teams are interested in him.

I’m almost certain Demar helped recruit Russ. So the deal would make no sense knowing they are interested in playing together.
