Portland: Murray and Reath
Portland: Wade
Cavs: Wade
Cavs: Murray and Reath
Cavs get some depth at Center and maybe SF/PF
Portland gets a PF that can space the floor

Pass for POR.
That leaves only Clingan and Yang at C and no PF with the beef to slide over. The value looks good but do t think the fit works.

You still have Timelord, and Wade can play spot minutes in small ball lineups at the m5.
You could also sign a washed vet to a minimum if you want more depth. Probably a better backup for those two than Reath, who is still fighting to have a career.

Even I have reached the point where I don’t consider RW playing significant time.
Too bad, very nice player.

I like the trade for Portland.
The BIG issue that I see is this would put Blazers JUST below the tax with 14 roster spots. Signing a vet minimum contract to fill out the roster would push them into the tax.... which is not going to happen for a lotto team.
[Blazers currently sit ~$1.5M below tax. Reath + Murray is ~$5.3M out and Wade would be ~$6.6M in. Portland would then be ~$200k below tax after the trade with 14 roster spots filled].

I don't think the Cavs should trade Wade, but I'd be fine with this.

I like the deal for Portland, even if it does functionally limit them to 14 rostered players + 10 days.

Thanks for checking the numbers. This was my concern as well. I knew they were already close to the line, so taking on salary (even a little) while opening a roster gap makes it hard to fill.

As others have said - really like the deal for Portland but it caps them at 14 rostered players which likely would make it tough to do.
