OKC - MIA - OKC: Nurkic, Rozier, seconds, money

UTA trades: Jusuf Nurkic
in: Terry Rozier (waived), 2026 DAL/PHI/OKC 2nd (highest), 2027 OKC/HOU/MIA/IND 2nd (highest)
Utah adds salary for 2nds. Not sexy, but Rozier is expiring so we can cut him and have some seconds. Next year is a deep draft and we only have our first, so I'd love to have a good second in the draft.
MIA trades: Terry Rozier (waived), cash, 2026 BRK 2nd (protected 31-55)
in: Jusuf Nurkic
Miami dumps $7.3 million in salaries. Nurkic - according to his national coach and what we saw last year - is out of shape and done as an NBA player. So you have to be comfortable with him mostly being a lockerroom presence and a salary ballast for a later trade.
OKC trades: 2026 DAL/PHI/OKC 2nd (highest), 2027 OKC/HOU/MIA/IND 2nd (highest)
in: cash, 2026 BRK 2nd (protected 31-55)
OKC has so many picks that getting some cash for 2nds may be beneficial for their financial bottom-line. Again, it isn't sexy, but it is what it is. <or, insert team willing to sell 2-3 2nds early>

Love the title! I’ve played around with a few versions of eating Rosier's contract. It works if there's no other deals worth considering.

The 2026 second is probably top 40.. don’t think that gets sold for cash.
Maybe a draft night trade if they can’t get a deal done, but I’d trust in Presti finding a way to delay and upgrade the picks.

OKC haven’t really been selling our seconds since Presti took over . It’s usually traded for future seconds . Even if it’s worser.

Feels like MIA should pay a real 2nd, at least, for saving the $. Possibly 2.

They don't have any, hence trading cash to get seconds from elsewhere. I think they can trade about $7 million.

Oh, duh, point went flying by me, lol. Still salty about Austin getting 2 2nds for taking Niang and sending a two-way, I guess.

It sounds like the real question for this trade is what the right third team is. I could be cheeky and just look at Orlando since they almost always sell or trade their seconds anyway and they have quite a few.

Chicago is the other that sells .
