Ugh. Hate the idea of this because the Lakers get a lot better talent but…
Rui/Gabe/Kleber/JV
For
DDR/Monk/Carter/Davis
It comes to within 1.3 off which I believe Sac has before tax issues arise.
LA does it for talent.
Sac does it for two reasons, one is balance and the other is to free up space next year so they can give Keegan and Ellis extensions.
Sabonis/Raynaud/Eubanks
Rui/Kleber/JV
Keegan/Clifford
LaVine/Ellis
Dennis/Westbrook/Gabe
That’s just a far more balanced team.

I think it makes lakers too small and defensively worse

any teams out there that would give LAL a big man for DeRozan?
Huge talent upgrade for the Lakers, and I think they kinda have to do this if offered, but it requires roster balancing, and DeRozan isn't a fit with the Lakers imo

Luka/Smart
Reaves/Monk
Derozan/Knecht
Lebron/Laravia
Ayton/Hayes
Dont like it for LAL. I think adding one of Derozan/Monk is okay, but not both

What about scaled back…
DDR/Davis/Jones
For
Rui/Kleber

If I'm choosing between the two, it's Monk, I like Demar but his time is up and not a real good fit for what Lakers need. We could use Monk off the bench for some scoring though.
That is also such a small line up and being in the West Lakers need as much a size as possible. Not willing to trade Vando/Rui for what Kings/Op are offering

Gross, no way the Lakers are taking on that much 2026-27 money

i desagree
i think M.Monk is perfect to receive Luka's pass from arc. I think DDR wuold be a fake starter, with more minutes when Luka is on the bench
so, i think the trade works good for Lakers

It’s good value for the lakers but seems a bit of an odd trade for both teams. There is a lot of future money going to the Lakers. I assume they want to keep a max slot in salary available for 26/27, but IDK.

I really hope the kings never do something like this. That is far too much value to give up for what we get back. Derozan for Rui plus filler is fine adding Monk and Carter for the rest of that deal is crazy.

Rui > Derozan for the Lakers. With Luka and Lebron there is absolutely 0 reasons to add a player like Derozan when Rui is hitting 40% of open 3s.

Pivoting here but what about a straight swap of Knecht for Ellis?

not even close Ellis is worth way more. Defensive stopper 3pt shooter better than bench scorer.

Knecht has no trade value as has been pretty widely reported.

Lakers become worse spacing and defensively. Easy no imo for Lakers. I counter with Expiring, JV, Dalton for Monk or DD.

Huge talent win for LAL but DeRozan and Monk are really bad fits for a team that already has too many mouths to feed on offense and desperately needs size/defense. Monk for Gafford has been beaten to death on this board but that would make this much more palatable for the Lakers.

Something like this would be agreeable to me. I think a perfect scenario for both teams would be something like
LAL out: Kleber, Vincent, Knecht, 2nd
LAL in: Demar
Luka - Reaves - Lebron - Rui - Ayton
Smart - Demar - LaRavia - Vando - Hayes
SAC out: Demar, Saric
SAC in: Vincent, Kleber
3rd team (Jazz or Brookyln) Out: Nothing
3rd Team in: Knecht, Saric, LAL 2nd

Where has it and what has been widely reported?
If you focus on the best parts of DK, you can maybe convince yourself of a 6th man type of potential - as he's flashed. If you focus on the low points, he's a 'take a flyer' on a really good shooter but will likely live at the end of rotation.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder type of situation but feels like he's got somewhere between 1 - 2 2nd round (s) type of value. Perhaps closer to 1 given this past SL but I'd assume most teams would give somewhat of the benefit of doubt after the failed trade and never getting back on track. New environment could yield better results.
Either way, 'no value' seems a bit drastic.

Hell to the no. These are all TERRIBLE offers to the Lakers. The Kleber/Vincent expirings alone dwarf whatever value one thinks Monk might be to offset DDR significant negative value, especially in today’s CBA environment.
Lakers better off just seeing what shakes out at the trade deadline instead of spending their expiring salary trade ballast on players who won’t move the needle enough to justify their salaries. Hell taking on Monk basically means Reaves should be pushed out next season as Monk is now eating up Reaves salary slot. So unless Reaves is outgoing for an equal level big on a comparable salary the lakers downgrade significantly due to the redundant all offense/No defense in having both Monk/Reaves on the roster. DDR is just a plain non winning impact basketball player these days. If he was on the min, sure he can score some buckets and be a mid range weapon off the bench. But he doesn’t provide enough of what winning teams need, spacing and defense all while being paid handsomely for his obsolete skill set.
