GSW - MIL - SAC - TOR - UTA (Putting It All Together)
Posted: Wed Sep 3, 2025 2:31 pm
-----------------------
GSW Gets: Kyle Kuzma & 2030 SAC 1st (Lottery Protected; then defers to least favorable between 2031 SAC 1st & 2031 SAS 1st)
GSW Gives: Jonathan Kuminga (S&T $63 mil/3 years) & Buddy Hield
Why for GSW? Instead of getting Monk and further crowding their backcourt (St. Curry, Moody, Podz, Melton, Payton, Se. Curry), they get a big, long, athletic PF that can play either PF or SF. Kuzma's size allows the Warriors to play Green at C and not be overly small everywhere else. The idea would be for Kuzma to lean into a glue role and focus on defense, rebounding, spacing the floor, and providing secondary scoring/playmaking (when needed). Kuzma also gives them a placeholder salary for this year and next year to use if a bigger fish becomes available, and the extra first they receive from SAC gives them another asset to toss around in such a deal.
PG - Curry / Melton / Curry
SG - Moody / Podz / Payton
SF - Butler / Santos
PF - Green / Kuzma
C - Horford / Post / Jackson-Davis
-----------------------
MIL Gets: DeMar DeRozan & Kevin Love
MIL Gives: Kyle Kuzma
Why for MIL? The Bucks get a significant offensive upgrade over Kuzma and give Giannis a great 2nd option next to him in hopes of getting back to being a contender. Defensively, Giannis and Turner should be able to cover for DeRozan's shortcomings in that department making them a solid trio. Love gives them some more depth at the big man spot and can be another floor spacer in spot minutes.
PG - Anthony / Porter / Rollins
SG - Trent / Green / Harris
SF - DeRozan / Prince / Jackson Jr / Livingston
PF - Giannis / Portis / Smith / Thanasis
C - Turner / Sims / Love
-----------------------
SAC Gets: Jonathan Kuminga (S&T $63 mil/3 years), Kyle Anderson, & KJ Martin
SAC Gives: DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk, & 2030 SAC 1st (Lottery Protected; then defers to least favorable between 2031 SAC 1st & 2031 SAS 1st)
Why for SAC? The Kings get their target in Kuminga who gives them a high potential player to invest in. Kuminga also gives them another big, long, athletic forward next to Sabonis and allows the Kings to push Murray back to SF (which is ideal IMO). They also balance the roster more as Anderson and Martin give them more forwards to play with while clearing out some of their guard glut.
PG - Schroder / Carter
SG - LaVine / Ellis / Davis
SF - Murray / Clifford / McDermott
PF - Kuminga / Anderson / Martin / Jones
C - Sabonis / Raynaud / Eubanks
-----------------------
TOR Gets: Malik Monk & Buddy Hield
TOR Gives: RJ Barrett
Why for TOR? The Raptors move on from the Barrett experiment and get a couple of bench pieces that fit their roster better. Monk gives them a dynamic, elite 6th man to help run the bench unit. Hield gives them an elite movement shooter which helps space the floor that much more for Barnes, Ingram, & Quickley.
PG - Quickley / Monk / Shead
SG - Dick / Hield / Walter / Temple
SF - Ingram / Agbaji / Battle / Lawson
PF - Barnes / Murray-Boyles
C - Poeltl / Mogbo / Mamukelashvili
-----------------------
UTA Gets: RJ Barrett
UTA Gives: Kyle Anderson, KJ Martin, & Kevin Love
Why for UTA? The Jazz get the best, highest ceiling player in the deal while only sending out rotation pieces/bench warmers.
PG - Collier / Clayton
SG - George / Williams / Svi
SF - Barrett / Bailey / Sensabaugh
PF - Markkanen / Hendricks / Niang
C - Kessler / Filipowski / Nurkic
