Trae for Ja

Ja Morant, John Konchar and Second Earliest of (Grizzlies own / latest of Suns/Wizards / Magic) 2026 First Round Draft Pick for Trae Young
Both teams can probably use a change of scenery at guard. The Hawks take on Ja and a pick to potentially use in a bigger follow-up deal. The Grizzlies add a nice duo in Trae/JJJ.

Zero interest and Ja + Dyson backcourt way too flawed with the lack of shooting

Also, the reasoning why each time might have interest in trading their PG is probably a similar reason they wouldn’t have a ton of interest in acquiring the other PG?

Grizz value Ja more than this.

Trae is the much better player with a more team friendly contract. Incentives would need to be heading in the opposite direction.

Ja/Konchar for Trae/Daniels is a good framework, I have Ja as more valuable due to contract status.

I'm not sure contract status cuts that way here.

If Memphis wants to rebuild this could have legs…
Ja to Hawks (fresh start)
Trae to 3rd team (fresh start)
Ton of assets back to Grizzlies
An ironic example with NOP:
To Hawks: Ja/Trey Murphy/Clarke
To NOP: Trae/Okongwu/Konchar
To Grizzlies: Risacher/Fears/D. Murray/2x NOP 1sts (via Hawks - ironic part)
Both star guards get a fresh start in opposing conferences. Memphis deepens the rebuild.

I fail to see how that is a good framework for Atlanta. I don't think Ja's contract status is good enough to offset the value difference in Daniels/Konchar.

I succeed to see it though, that's why I suggested it, I disagree with your assesment on the value difference, I even think it's a no brainer for the Hawks.
Trae has an option to be a FA in an environment with lots of cap space, he's as much a flight risk as can be.

I am Trae curious.
FVV to a 4th team who needs a solid PG
Ja to Atl
Trae to Houston
Sheppard, salary and pick or young player from 4th team, 2027 Hou First with right to swap with BK, 2029 First to Grizz
Trae / Holiday
Amen / DFS
Jabari / Eason
Durant /
Sengun / Adams

I don't think either side does this but I think Memphis declines first (if that makes sense). Ja is more inconsistent but has a higher ceiling

Houston would be deadly with Trae.

Even if Trae was to walk, Atlanta would rather have Daniels and his skill set over Ja.

No brainer? Seems terrible for Atlanta and they would never consider it.

No they would not, that's an asinine statement.

Ya there's no way ATL touches that deal... Daniels has way more value then Konchar, and I have Trae as having a bit more value then Ja, even after taking into account contract status... Trae has better 3pt shooting, far superior passing, and you know, is not a headcase.
