Houston out: Adams, 2 seconds
Houston in: White

Chicago out: White
Chicago in: Kleber, Knecht, 2 seconds

LAL out: Kleber, Knecht
LAL in: Adams

Why for LAL: improve backup five/get insurance for ayton
Why for Chicago: get a recent FRP prospect and 2nds for expiring white
Why for Houston: replace backcourt depth

Add second(s) as needed

CHI would hopefully decline. I would be sad if this is all they could get for Coby

I'm cool with just seeing what Amen, Reed, and Holiday can do without the inconsistency of Jalen Green putting a ceiling on the team or the inefficiency of FVV taking ill-advised shots.

Adams is a better player than White.

Swap with Capella and min guys, otherwise no.

Adams is a 20 mpg player at this point in his career. White is a proven starter

A "proven starter" on teams that went:

22-43
31-41
46-36
40-42
39-43
39-43

White would not be a starter on our team.

He is a potential one year stop gap rental, due to the injury to FVV.

And Adams shouldn't start on any teams. White would fetch more in FA if you want to look at what teams would pay for them

Lakers cut out Houston easily. Don’t need an injury prone big. Not worth the future cap space.

Steven Adams grabbed 3.3 offensive rebounds in just over 20 mpg last playoffs for Houston. They aren't giving him away for Coby White, let alone add picks.

GSW was tiny

All Knechte does is push back when you get some production from that spot on the roster, it will take time before he replaces White. The Bulls don't have a history, especially AK, of getting much help from 2nd round picks and coming from HOU they'd be deep in the 20's. Kleber is old which the Bulls aren't aiming for, is of no use with Buzelis and Williams at the PF with Essengue in the wings and even if you want to say he's a backup 5 he's 4th on that depth chart.

NO

That may be so but ORB% of 16.7 wasn't even Adams' career playoff high for a series and not far off from his regular season career number of 15.1%. Adams' defense, screening, and rebounding > some points from Coby White.

Would would Houston trade one of their most impactful net rating players for Coby White?

I need people to look themselves in the mirror and ask them "Is Coby White the missing piece to a championship team?"

Is he by himself? No, obviously. But, if a huge gaping hole opened up at a major role on a championship caliber team, and Coby could fill that hole, then yeah, he could be the “missing piece to a championship team”. He’s a good player. There’s no great options for Houston and all have risks.

Rockets better off with a minor move, or a big one. I have two guys in mind but don't get married to my examples. A trade for Jose Alvarado for 2 mins and a pick would shore up the back court, make a small injury survivable... or a bigger move for someone like Dyson Daniels who is a long term fit in exchange for lots of picks. Giving up on the double big for a one year rental, non-star player seems like a lateral move, even this season. Maybe in late December that sounds stupid, but we'll see.

I'd love to have Jose for that cheap. He'd be a luxury to have more than a necessity. I'm invested in just starting Amen at the point. I feel fine with our backup PG options: Holiday was perfectly okay in the regular season and I'm excited to see year 2 Reed.
