Who wants Dalton Knecht even as package deal?

I've never been sold on Knecht and some fans even say he will be an allstar player some day (wish I could of saved those posts, oh well), not a chance of this happening. Ever since Lakers tried trading for him, his lost that "loving feeling", if you know you know, wouldn't be easy coming into the league only to have said team try to trade for you, that I understand.

That said, I don't think his Laker material starting to think the bright lights of LA could be getting to him? and could be used else where.

Yes it's only been 1 preseason game, but i'm just not sold on the kid, sorry to say it.

- - - Knecht won't be dealt in a trade by himself, I'm sure someone like; Gabe, Maxi, and maybe the Lakers SRP will be included IN THE DEAL

Honestly I'm not even that worried on who the Lakers get for him even if it's a bad contract in return I'm almost keen to take it, as long as that player can give us some scoring medium type of defense I'm good.

So any takers, what's your teams best offer? Portland, Bulls, Heat, Kings/Monk? I'm looking at you as some potential teams.

Peace out!.

Vucevic feels like a reasonable target just to get more minutes at center and someone who can be a really nice 6th man.

Vincent/Kleber/Knecht for Vooch

In the draft I thought he was a bit overrated because he was the type of player who often gets overrated, which is the upperclassmen who's main thing is scoring, who wasn't that impressive as an underclassmen. And there was an idea that "well at the very least he'll be a rich mans Duncan Robinson", which ignored the fact that Robinson was a much better pure catch-and-shoot guy in college. I don't think he was a terrible pick at 17, but the idea that he was some great steal was always a manufactured media narrative.

Now he's 24.5 years old, which is normally the beginning of your prime, and he hasn't shown he can be a solid NBA rotation player. But his rookie year was okay enough that I think he still has some value. He's probably worth a high second. Like, if the Lakers are trading Maxi and Knetch for a role player, and the recieving team doesn't value Knetch, I think the lakers would be able to find a third team willing to give up that level of pick for him.

But also, his value is low enough that the Lakers might see clearing his 2026/7 salary as a silver lining in a deal, since they seem to be looking at using cap space.

Great for the Lakers to give up 2 guys they don't need. The Bulls have to say no.
They do not have roster spots to add two aging players who won't play even if like Vucevic they are expiring. Look at Vincent and tell me he and Jevon Carter aren't twins. The Bulls don't need two small shooting PGs making about $18M when they are already overloaded at guard/ Kleber makes a lot for being either the 3rd center or 4th PF. Even though Knechte still has promise the Bulls are adding 2 guards to Giddey, White, Jones, Huerter, Dosunmu, Carter, possibly Okoro and Terry. Do the math and then you'll just say, well they could trade 3 or 4 of those guys or buy a few out. That's not a plan in the real world.

Jevon Carter should be included to the Lakers, no team should have to employ him and Gabe Vincent

The new car has been driven off the lot, so now the value is down. He holds value, I’m sure many teams would love to take a flyer on him (I’d welcome him to Portland), but he’s probably probably a sweetner to a deal rather than the focal point of a deal at this point.

I kind of like a thybulle/Reath for Kleber/Knecht trade. Lakers get a 3rd string C and wing defender, portland get the cost controlled prospect

He is a legit role player, but that’s about it.
Not an all star. If he’s a starter your team isn’t very good.
I think he will have a solid career though. Nice 7th man type.

Ive seen it so many times, oh kleber will be 3rd or 4th option, and then when its po time he is 1 or 2 option. If he is healthy I could see him being pf starter in po. And jj played with him, those that played with him always holds him to high regard. Think lakers wont trade him if it isnt a clear upgrade over his best. Switching him for someone that cant play playoffminutes is just not worth it

You are correct logically but sadly that puts the Lakers over the apron by about 700k.

Jevon Carter to the Jazz for Kevin Love

Why for the Lakers- avoid that problem, add one of Lebrons guys

Why for the Jazz- get some small asset for the cost difference

Yes Thybulle would be awesome, don't know Reath so can't comment there, you'd probably have to include SRP maybe even FRP for Port to get rid Theybulle unless Reath is that bad contract player I'm talking about?

So is this like a salary dump for less money/years? I'd gladly do any of the Pistons smaller deals under 4m per. I suspect the league values him more than this forum. He's an impressive young offensive player who competes (though not well yet) on defense. With coaching and time he should get better. Of course people will dislike him for being a Laker, but in addition the age thing is a little overplayed. It was still his first year in the NBA, which is a mile apart. He was also tossed into a pressure team situation as a rookie and people wondered why didn't always show out.

Sasser?

Just waive one or both of Carter/Vincent. The point is to get a possible long term rotation player and Knecht has a chance to do that. Instead Chicago will either lose Vucevic for nothing, or keep him longer than they should.

I like Sasser as a target.
