MIA trades: Norm Powell
GSW trade: Jonathan Kuminga

Golden State could use more offensive creation outside of Curry. Norman Powell can do that, and pretty efficiently. Miami could use a bit of a mini-youth movement, and they do have floor spacing at the 5, so I think they could maximize what Kuminga can currently do. If a player doesn't develop under Spo, they aren't an NBA player, so I think it is worth Miami rolling the dice.

Not convinced Kuminga will ever be that.

I am not either, but I think it is a low-risk gamble for Miami.

I don't hate it given the T.O. in the second season, but it makes the Heat's spacing worse this season so it kind of depends on what the plan is going forward.

My guess is it would happen near the deadline when Miami has a pretty good idea of where it stands now and what direction they want to go. But, given that Bam can hit some threes now, I kind of like that 4-man group of Herro-Kuminga-Bam-Ware as a team that has some spacing and a lot of defense. The fifth starter will matter a lot to how it works out, though.

I think he takes enough to keep defenses honest. You can't just park a center in the paint when he shoots 3 per game on okay percentages and Ware shoots 3 per 36 and his percentages are probably going to go up. Spacing won't be perfect, but I think it can work. I could also be completely wrong

If they Kuminga for the next iteration of the Heat, sure.

The very first line of reasoning in this trade is exactly why Miami doesn't do this trade because, and I cannot stress this enough, Miami needs creativity in our offense far more than Golden State does. It's why we acquired Powell in the first place

And Miami has a mini youth movement already. Herro, Ware, Jovic, Jacquez, Larsson, and KJ all 25 or younger. How young do we need to be?

I'm very comfortable with Bam standing and Ware standing out at the three point line as the opponent.

Nothing against Powell but the last thing we need is another guard

Pretty much this. Why would the Heat do it.

Wouldn’t be my first choice as a Warriors fan in a desired Kuminga for a wing deal. Not even my first choice in such a deal with Miami. I see the logic though.

As a Warriors fan, I do the deal and make sure we have the league office on the line within 3 minutes to make it official.

But then I also work on a follow-up deal to trade a guard or two for a big wing / combo forward, because the roster balance would be pretty bad, so overloaded with guards. But solve that problem separately. Don’t waste time trying to make it a 3-team deal, because Miami might sober up during that period.

Miami only should do this if their season is going really poorly and they want a couple month look at Kuminga.

GS - should take the talent upgrade and flip Buddy or Moody.
