Devin Carter to Utah

Post#1 » by babyjax13 » Mon Oct 13, 2025 5:00 pm

Utah really doesn't need more combo-guards, but there have been several rumors that our FO specifically likes Devin Carter, so I am building from that even though I disagree with doing the trade!

UTA trades: 2027 1st (worst not conveyed to PHX, likely LAL 1st)
SAC trades: Devin Carter

Utah gets a player they really like for a pick in a draft where they still have THREE firsts after having already traded one away.

Sacramento recoups a first for Carter - something that is likely going to be difficult if they are moving on from him after one season - and opens up a roster spot.

I think the value is fine here, but I think Sac's goal is find a win now contributor if they flip Carter. So likely needs a 3rd team. If Sac doesn't plan to make him a rotation player this season then it would be smart to cash out now if they can.

My impression is they want to move him to sign Westbrook.

Would you do it with a Saric/Kyle Anderson swap? It would have to be 2 seperate trades as Saric can’t be aggregated until Jan. Sac needs a playable forward.

I don't think our FO would because we brought Anderson in because of his history with Hardy. That said, he looks as washed as Saric, so sure, lol. I can already tell I am going to hate having him on this team.

Carter might be worth a low FRP, but I'd rather see some other team pay it. If the Jazz make that deal it's not tragic though.

Sure, value is fine for Kings if they want to use the pick already and pivot(trade DDR + Monk + picks and also sign Westbrook)
Kinda worried about Kings considering their lack of movement on making this team fit a little better. Is Keegan their PF of the future? Sure Dennis is a decent PG for them, but is it the only change needed to make the playoffs?

You could try to work it into a Kuminga trade, I suppose. A 2027 pick from the Lakers is better than the 2031 pick from the Spurs you were trying to sell us on.
