Kessler to Orlando
ORL trades: Wendell Carter Jr., Jett Howard, 2028 WAS/LAL 2nd (more favorable), 2030 MIL 2nd
UTA trades: Walker Kessler, Svi Mykhailiuk
Utah's offense looks so fun with a center that can pass and shoot, so I am completely in on trading Kessler to lean into this new identity with Ace. WCJ is a bit older than Kessler (26 vs. 24) but he is also locked in at a pretty reasonable price moving forward. We also get a look at Jett Howard who has not been good so far, and two potentially early future 2nds.
Orlando saves a lot of money this year. Moving forward, Kessler is probably about the same price as WCJ + Howard (they are at about $23 million combined next season). With the addition of Bane they have more spacing, so Kessler helps them lean further into their defensive identity.

Man come on, can you do a Kessler to Lakers please, you know you want too haha, I wouldn't mind Svi back either.
As for Trade I don't mind it, as long as I don't see Kessler going to Bos/Den/Clip I'm good.
Edit: Reaves/Kencht, Kessler/Svi

Re: Kessler to Orlando
Pretty solid deal. I have it slightly in favor of Orlando, but it makes sense for the Jazz as well.

I think Reaves is quite a bit more valuable than Kessler and LA should keep him as a nice complimentary scorer long term to Luka.

That's why I didn't include the picks this time around, but I'd even be willing to throw in the FRP
I like Reaves and he "Is him" but It's all about LaLuka now, Kessler/Ayton frontcourt OMG, Hayes off the bench. Easily find playmaking guards to fill the roles compared to C's

I am super skeptical about Ayton, but I do hope he works out.

Re: Kessler to Orlando
The Magic should absolutely do this and worry about Kessler's contract next summer. I'd argue that WCJ is on a bad contract now given how many games he misses.
It's a bad idea for the Jazz though.

I believe so. If he is around 25 million it is close enough to neutral over the next 3 seasons that they should be fine.

Re: Kessler to Orlando
Love it for Orlando. Utah doesn't need to give Kessler away though to get an offensive center in house. Those guys are always available. Trade Kessler to a team willing to give you a first and then trade salary/2nds for Vuc is but one easy example.

Makes me wonder how Nurk/Kessler for Vuc/Portland first/2nd(s) would go.
Chicago gets a long term center to go with their youth movement.
Utah hopes Portland progresses in the next 3 years.

Re: Kessler to Orlando
As for the OP..
I think Utah should go get the best asset possible for Kessler and just throw Flip out there full time.
It probably won’t go well, but why not give him a chance

The Jazz see Flip as more of a four than a five and I agree. As positively surprising as Nurk has been to me and others, I'd like to see what a healthy Utah roster looks like with an integrated Kessler rather than to overreact to preseason performances without him. And I don't think that Ainge and Co feel any pressure to make changes at this stage.

Re: Kessler to Orlando
This seems light for Walker. UTA should aim for a FRP.
What about Kessler + small filler (Svi or Love work) for Jalen Smith + PDX FRP?
UTA gets a floor spacing look at PF/C (Jalen isnt a passer but he can shoot at least) and a FRP.
CHI gets a excellent rim protector, a guy who fits their core age range and a potentially really nice rim finisher for Giddey in PNR.

As ever, a complication of any Kessler to LAL trade is that it devalues the Lakers draft capital which the Jazz already own. For that reason alone, Utah would need to extract an overpay above and beyond the return available from another team. I don't see a feasible scenario.

That pick will never convey as a first, and Smith doesn't do what I would be looking for out of a center. Walker is quite good, I like him a lot, the return either needs to be a great fit, or it needs to be an adequate amount of compensation.

I think Vucevic results in a few more wins than I'd want this year
