I think this is pretty good for Portland. That is less than what Murray made and I *think* as of now Camara is a more impactful player. If Murray were in an environment with more scoring responsibilities he might be more impactful.

Basically a 3yr 26.5 AAV extension but spread over 4 years? Pretty fair. Good for Camara to secure his generational wealth

Seems to be good value on both.
They're probably at the level of 4th/5th starters on a good team and that's what they'll be paid as.

I like the Camara deal, but unless Sharpe improves pretty significantly (not out of the question) that seems like an instant bad deal?

This is like when the board of company that's a target of a hostile takeover loads up on debt to to make the acquiring company uneasy.
I'm fine with Camara standing alone, but if you add in trading for Jrue, signing Dame sight unseen, and Sharpe (which was unwarranted), this is kind of nuts with Grant still on the books and Deni needing an extension.

I think you are dead wrong on Sharp, got the most potential on the Blazers, still 22, and showing more and more signs. Very fair deal for Blazers

I am very happy about his and Camara’s deals. I was worried after that Keegan deal that Sharpe gets more than this. I would have been fine with 4/$100M. Both Sharpe and Camara are now locked into contracts cheaper than what we gave Simons and with a higher cap. Rare time to not see Blazers way overpay to keep guys.

Id say its TBD. If he doesnt improve at all he would project as a 6th man type and that would be a mild overpayment but not crippling

This is on the low end of what he was rumored to get, so this feels like a bargain to me.

Doesn't Deni still have 3 more years on his very team friendly contract? By the time he needs to be paid Grant will be gone and Holiday's current contract will be over as well. (and Ayton's dead money will be off the books). They won't be as cheap as you'd wand (really due to the Grant and Ayton money) but should be fine.

One seems team friendly, one seems risky.

Yeap.
Worth the risk though for sharpe.
They do have to pay folks eventually. Just hope he will break out with his future secured.

I really wanted Portland to do a crazy renegotiate and extend with Deni and all their moves are making that much more difficult. But that’s unrelated.
I like both these deals enough. I think Camara is already worth that number and Sharpe’s upside is worth the 50/50 on him developing. Portland decided they aren’t tanking, so these guys were getting paid..

I would have let him go to free agency, but compared to a bloated contract like Jalen Green's, Sharpe's is a steal. And I value Camara above Sharpe so, to me, the numbers are inverted if anything.
