Just a simple swap, Duop Reath for Marcus Sasser. Could throw in a 2nd if you’re so inclined but I think they’re roughly close in value.

Why for Portland? Their center spot is one of their deeper positions. With Simons gone, they could use a microwave guard scorer off the bench, especially one that could reliably space the floor.

Why for Detroit? They conversely have more than enough guards once Ivey is back with the LeVert signing and Robinson being able to play the 2. Getting a big who could space the floor to play next to the likes of Thompson and Holland would be helpful.

How is C deep for POR?

Clingan looks ready for starter minutes but stamina is an issue and Yang is interesting but needs reps.

I like Sasser, but C is not a deep position for Portland.

Portland is only deep on paper at C. But trade away Reath an injury to RWIII, and if Yang can’t keep up or any injuries, and Portland is in trouble. Blazers played Jerami Grant at C in pre-season and he is one of the worst rebounders in the league even if he is considered a SF. I just had a conversation yesterday with other Blazers fans about whether Portland should consider signing Mo Bamba for the minimum.

Didn't RWIII just have surgery is he playing, thought he was out for 4-5 months or something??

Apparently coach Bickerstaff is planning to use Sasser as a PG off the bench, and allow him to run the team (alongside Levert) a bit when Cade sits. I don't like this plan -- I think Sasser is a SG in a PG's body, not a PG, and I haven't seen Sasser run a good half-court attack yet. However, the fact Saaser has no real competition at back PG highlights just how little depth DET has at G behind Cade now that Ivey is out with injury again.

OTOH, DET has 3 playable Cs (Duren, Stewart, Reed).

I'll be shocked if the Pistons trade their best backup PG (Sasser) for a guy (Reath) who will split garbage-time minutes with their 3rd C (Reed)
