Between now and the trade deadline...

1. Which teams will be sellers?
--1A. What veteran pieces will they be selling?

2. Which teams will be the most aggressive buyers?
--2A. What assets/youth will they be offering?

3. Which players will request trades?

4. Which teams could use salary relief?
--4A. Which players would they use to reduce salary?
--4B. Which teams could help take on those players?

Boston should be selling. They want to get below the tax, ensure a bottom 4 finish, and restock the war chest. Everyone should made available, but if not, then at least dump Simons even if it takes a couple 2nds to get under the tax.

Detroit needs a real backup PG (priority #1), some shooting, and another quality backup big.

We have all our firsts but no extras. I don’t know if we’ll actually shop any of the young guys or not. Plenty of salary filler types on the roster.

Basically, we’re a high effort young team, which works in the regular season but doesn’t in the playoffs. The guys we have will hopefully improve, as we’re young, but the non-Cade initiated offense is rough and the defense is foul prone.

We also probably can’t afford to give every young player the second contract they want, so there needs to be some consolidation and long term planning. That’s what happens when you have six guys you drafted in the last five years as starters or key reserves, they gotta get paid.

2.) Houston needs a floor general. The FVV injury has been devastating.

- I think someone who isn't going to decline soon is important.
- Has a reasonable contract, or a reasonable extension in mind.
- Isn't injured all the time.
- Is actually good

Somehow this has become hard to find.....

The guys I am looking at now are Maxey, Reeves, Garland, or maybe an Indiana guy. And I say "looking at", because they are the ones that I figure might become available, and pass the "immediate no" test. Also need to scout them a bit more, because I don't watch the eastern conference guys very much.

White/Pritchard for FVV/Sheppard/1sts seems too obvious.

Then Brown to highest bidder. And I would think some West team trying to survive the gauntlet (and catch OKC) would overpay for Brown, thinking he is final piece to a chip. Spurs maybe.

With a full tank, Celtics could be amazing next season. Healthy Tatum. Ton of resources. And one has to imagine in the driver seat for Giannis - Boston probably on his list. Celtics with a full tank would have resources to acquire Giannis.

I think Spurs would be fine money wise. Fox has been paid. Wemby soon but 2nd contract max only. Castle probably out in the Brown trade, so Harper is only next big contract (if he proves worthy) and that is in 4 years. Plus, I think Vassell would be involved in trade.

Yeah Derrick White is a perfect target imo. Or screw it and go for Booker.

Teams are not usually keen to trade young all star pgs.

Vassell and KJ for Brown works under Spotrac. Maybe those 2 + FRP and 28 pick swap back might do it for Boston.
