Jazz trade Nurkic+Niang for Collins+Carter+2029 Bulls 2nd

All players are expiring. Bulls have been surprising to start the season. They decide to continue to compete for a top-6 spot in the East. Getting a burly backup center in Nurkic and a solid stretch PF in Niang as bench contributors upgrades the team for one future 2nd.

Conversely, the Jazz have three bigs clearly ahead of Nurkic in the pecking order, so losing him is no big loss. Might as well get a future 2nd for their expirings.

I could see the Jazz asking for more/better draft capital, but to me this is probably fine as is. Jazz create a slightly larger TPE by taking Collins into the existing one. Bulls could also keep Carter by taking Niang into their NTMLE.

I think bulls prefer to have Collins ability to space the floor since they are playing 5 out on offense.

Could make sense if they want an alternative since Smith also shoots the three, value is fine as is honestly

Don’t think the Jazz care much about 2nd round draft picks at this point. But if they thought it was worth it whatever. I think the Jazz like what Nurkic is bringing to the table helping the young players grow and teaching Kessler more off ball screens and passing. But if the Jazz keep winning they should trade him. Anything to help this season under 25 wins is a must for the Jazz.

The Bulls are worse off with Nurkic as a backup to Vucevic. They're very similar players, they're better off with a slightly more athletic Collins (currently out a month) who can shoot along with Smith. There's sure no way to justify the Bulls adding a pick to get what the have. Niang is 32, he's behind Buzelis, Okoro, Williams, Essengue and even Phillips in terms of future and Jalen Smith if minutes are needed.

When the Celtics traded Georges Niang away, Brad had to cough up 2 second rounders.

I like it, though if the Bulls find themselves competetive, they need to think bigger.

Value seems fine, but I think Nurkic is a jerk (no idea why-just seems like one) and the Bulls have good chemistry going
