An overpay for Kessler, but this is where we are at with centers today.

I dont really get this for Utah. They acquire JJJ, they draft Peterson. They put themselves in a position to be a really good team next year, then he sells to the Lakers for picks?

What a massive massive overpay (assets wise) from the Lakers. Great fit and fine with the contract but those picks OMG

The contract amount is fine, but that is just a crazy amount of value for a guy that is really unproven overall. It could work out but this is the bet that makes Luka stay or go.

outside of the overpay, I'm surprised teams are willing to send unprotected FRPs/swaps under the new lottery rules...thought almost every pick would have some small protection

It can work out and kessler might become an incredible C for them, but this is a lot to pay for a guy with some real question marks.

So with Luka/Reaves, safe to assume that Kessler is going to have a career year. I wouldn't be shocked to see 17-12 with 2.5 blocks.

Lets see how the build the rest of the team.

Luka must have really wanted him. Luka-reaves-Walker is legit, but can they add talent around that?

We got fleeced, but you couldnt wait anything different when you put Ainge(or any smart GM) and Pelinka on the same room.

But happy for the talent added, will be great complimmenting Luka and Reaves.
