CHA/MIA

Post#1 » by HornetJail » Fri Jul 24, 2026 9:42 pm

Charlotte trades Grayson Allen, 2028 2nd HOU, 2028 2nd ORL
Miami trades Nikola Jovic, 2029 1st

Miami shaves 2 years off the 4-year Jovic contract, and more importantly, adds shooting/spacing on the wing. Allen definitely starts for the Heat, and has past history playing with Giannis in MIL. Also a couple 2nds to throw around in other moves.

Charlotte continues its destiny as a bad contract dumping ground for picks.

Note: the 2027 pick owed to Charlotte (currently lotto prot, then unp in 2028) is amended to a straight up 2027 pick, freeing the 2029 to be sent out.

This seems like a really optimistic view of Allen's trade value. He's not a PG. That's what they need. If I ran the Heat, I wouldn't even unprotect the 27 first until there was someone besides Giannis to run the offense on the roster.
This will end badly

I wouldn't do a trade with Charlotte if you paid me. And this is just awful. Pass

I love Grayson Allen and he'd be perfect for the Heat. Feels like an easy yes for Miami and Charlotte can spare him so easy yes for them based on them not trying to follow up on their close to last season.

I like this trade a lot.

We may as well take on a bad contract for a first rounder. We aren't making any noise for a while.

Lol at this being horrible for Miami. Sure you could argue it isn't great if you like, but to call it "just awful" is complete hyperbole.

LOL. I don't think Miami will be trading with the Hornets for a while. I'll be civil, and just say... pass.
