Cavs: Allen, Strus, Schroeder, Tyson
Cavs: Durant and Gafford

Houston: Durant and Adams
Houston: Allen, Schroeder, Martin, and Tyson

Dallas: Gafford and Martin
Dallas: Strus and Adams

Cavs: Fill SF with one of the best in the game

Houston: Get off KD as he didn't seem to gel with the team and get a couple young assets plus 15M in expiring money to reallocate

Dallas: Dallas gets an expiring

No interest for Dallas at all without incentive. Not sure they prefer Porter and Tomlin to young guys they already have and they would need to clear 3 roster spots (already 1 over). All to save future money on a good player? I don't get it for Dallas.

This is not something the Cavs would consider doing, but Houston is getting way too good of a deal and I suspect that the Mavs would want Tyson at least.

Getting off of Durant is not incentive for Houston.

You have us taking Tyson as incentive for eating Scrhoder's/Martin deals.

And then we give up Durant to downgrade our backup center position, although make it younger.

This is really bad for Houston across the board.

Serious question? Dallas is owed value. This deal is horrendous

Deal doesn't make sense for Houston. They trade easily the best player in the deal for a worse backup 5 then what they already have, who's also moved in this deal. Why would the Rockets want to get out of his contract? Hes alll NBA 2nd team with the nba's 28th highest salary. No real incentive for the Rockets here.

I think the value is good for Houston, Allen is just a really strange target for a team with Sengun as a starter.

IMO, you probably can find a different team to trade a useful center and a first for Allen, and cut Dallas out.

Dallas part - feel like they’d rightfully want some value. Dumping Martin is incentive, I guess but it’s not really a need. Dallas’ roster needs so much turnover, I wouldn’t really be thinking about the 9 mil next offseason..

You’re saying current Adams is better than Allen?

Yep, and that's why he's not taken seriously.

You stated that KD for Allen and fillers is way too good for Houston. I'd be careful with casting stones.

I agree Allen is much better than Adams given health/age, but at the same time some teams that have a starting center might prefer Steve at 13 mill over Allen at 30, cap wise, while still seeing Allen as more valuable.

You should find those teams and propose a trade.

I’m a Rockets’ fan, and Allen is much better than Adams. He would start at center if the Rockets made this deal. However, Allen isn’t a good fit next to Sengun, and the Rockets need more shooting, not less.

This deal doesn’t address their needs nor make them better.

Agree completely. Even would agree that Allen would come off bench in Houston due to fit. Just meh to feel the need to ignore the talent Houston is getting.

OP is a weird target for Houston and they’d be looping in another team.

I'm not sure you read my post correctly, or perhaps I didn't do a good job explaining my thought. Find those teams and propose a trade for what?

Teams that want to trade something of value to have Steven Adams as their starting center?

I have no idea why you'd reply with this, I didn't claim anything like that.

Perhaps there's a sentence thats being ambiguously interpreted here, but I was specifically saying teams that already have a starting center might prefer Adams for contract reasons to be their backup C, even if they view Allen as the better, more valuable player, strictly from a cap management POV.

My bad, I initially misread that as valuing Adams of Allen in the same role, largely due to the salary difference.

The problem with this is that it's far from clear that the Rockets view Sengun as the long term answer at starting center. They just had a taking-calls-on-everyone-but-Amen June and no one got moved. Not a single player.

Durant is going to turn 38 in September, has had some ill-timed injuries the last two seasons, has struggled to fit into the last three teams he personally chose, and isn't cheap. Maybe his trade value isn't what Rockets fans hope it is league wide.

Again, not even sure what your original point was in your response, but I can say I'm lower on KD than most, and I don't think Allen at 3/90 is substantially valuable to the point of saying KD for Allen would be "way too good" for Houston.
