https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/286994/Bradley-Beal-Clippers-Agree-To-Two-Year-$132M-DealBradley Beal and the Los Angeles Clippers have agreed upon a two-year, $13.2 million deal. Beal has a player option for Year 2 of the deal.
Beal signed with the Clippers last offseason but suffered a season-ending hip injury early in the season.
Beal declined his player option this offseason to pursue free agency.
This is a curve-ball

I saw the number in the URL, and I about fell over....
$132M for Beal? That is obscene
Fortunately decimals are a thing... but even then $13.2M is a lot of money for him

eh. Pre injury, on the Suns, he was probably a low level starter/good bench player. For 6 mill a year, thats probably an underpay. If he gets back to form, he's a bargain as a bench piece and a trade candidate (nothing crazy, ofc, just a 2nd or 2), and if the injury has made him considerably, it doesnt really hurt them. They have a pretty clean cap sheet atm

Does this take clippers out of Watson contention? Might received signal from Watson camp to move on

So are they bringing back Mathurin? SG seems a bit crowded there.

There's 15 contracts there now, but Cam Christie is non-guaranteed until 10/15. But if the Kawhi deal goes down, that puts them to 16 guys. So, there's not really roster spots, but LA could also just waive Johni Broome, whom they were paid to take on.

This is at stupid deal with little to no upside. If the 2nd year was a Team Option, i could sorta see it, but id rather prioritize retaining Mathurin and developing Wagler than wasting mins and money on Beal.

Seems like he’s more of a min guy these days.

Both years partially guaranteed for about $3M.

If Beal can play 60-70 games this is a great deal. He hasn't done that in like 5 years though.
