Re: Cavs and Utah
I mean at least send Utah cash. As is this is just a deal that benefits Cleveland.

I can definitely see us helping Cleveland out like this, but we need some small compensation.

Konchar is the better and cheaper player, so you have to pay for that somehow.

Re: Cavs and Utah
presenting Tre Mann as a young player with potential to play well enough to consider his team option, is just not really accurate anymore. Tre is 25, turns 26 in January and the extent of his body of work in 6 years in the NBA, is a 41-game stretch between the 2024 trade deadline and November 2024, where he looked like a spark plug bench player, and the rest of it is basically your run of the mill scoring guard prospect that isn't good enough at any one thing to stick... and now add on a major back injury
He's probably better than last year's disasterclass of a season, but anybody looking for that archetype of player can go find a ton of younger, cheaper prospects. Nick Smith Jr is hanging around in FA, he was notably better than Tre in the same role in Charlotte, and is 3 years younger.

$2M in savings? Maybe if you stacked up another 4 or 5 of these...
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Yeah, I feel like there are Cavs fans who don't understand the logistics of how an eventual Watson trade needs to work. The Cavs are going to need Mann's outgoing salary combined with Strus to match salary if the Cavs are going to eat Nnaji and get Watson close to the number he's going to want. That's with practically nothing coming back from the 3rd and 4th teams.
This will end badly

We have the draft pick from Clev or Minn next year. Just that alone could push Utah away from helping Clev in any way. Yes it's a minor deal that probably has no bearing on where Clev ends up, but if the return is nothing special I see Utah just walking away and wishing the worst for Clev. Not trying to be a d***, just stating reality.
