There have been rumors of the Lakers being interested in Kuminga. Throwing this idea out there so everyone can hate on it.
ATL gets:
Large TPE
'27 second (MIN via POR)
Hawks get a second and a decent sized TPE for participating in the trade. They don't take on any additional salary or contracts... so there is no downside for participating. They stay under the TAX line.
LAL get:
S&T Kuminga (3yr - starting at $16M)
Lakers get Kuminga as their target & Kuminga gets paid. They stay under the 1st Apron hard cap.
POR gets:
Jake LaRavia ($6M into MLE)
Adou Thiero ($2.1M into MLE)
(Potter is waived)
Blazers get a playable F who can be a backup this season and gets to take a swing on Thiero (a poor man's OG). These two F help balance the Blazer's roster. They stay under the TAX line.

Doubt Portland gives up a 2nd here.

I don't see why Portland does this at all, regardless of the 2nd

As a Laker fan, I'm not giving up Thiero for Kuminga and in saying that not even a fan of Kuminga coming to the Lakers, won't say no, just not a fan of it, rather see those minutes go to Thiero, Ziaire, Vando etc.
You will see a lot of Laker fans who like Thiero a lot and while willing to trade him for the right price, that price is not Kuminga.

My Lakers Team Incoming
Starters: Kessler, Ziaire, Grimes, Reaves, Luka
Bench:Sexton, Mamu, Thiero, Carr, Thybulle, Looney, Vando, Laravia, Hardy, Knecht
1 or 2 more moves needed

Yeah, Portland needs a pick or two to take on salary.

Have you seen Portland's roster depth at F behind Deni & Camara?
G: Lillard, Holiday, Ja, Scoot, Sharpe
F: Deni, Camara, Krejci, Sidy, Potter
C: Clingan, RWIII, Carlson, Yang
LaRavia is not a large salary and is serviceable to eat some minutes at F. He's probably a little better player than Krejci... so he would get minutes.

Portland takes on salary... but it's not bad salary. But the real reason for the trade would be for this:

[b]Brian Windhorst: ‘There’s still a window’ for Lakers to land Jonathan Kuminga in sign-and-trade[/b
]Aug. 21, 2026, 3:11 PM EDT
Brian Windhorst: There's still a window there for the Lakers to do a Jonathan Kuminga sign-and-trade deal using Jaden Hardy. But my thing on the whole Jonathan Kuminga sign and trade thing is that for the Hawks to do a sign and trade, they're going to probably end up in the tax unless you can ship someone to a third team who has to be paid. And I've just been very doubtful that unless the Hawks are in love with the situation that they're going to end up, signing and trading Kuminga. The other thing with Kuminga is a sign and trade has to be three years. Doesn't have to be fully guaranteed, but it can't be player options. It'll be team options. And so, if Kuminga can't get a contract number that he likes in the first year, even if it's more money, this is one thing that Lakers fans, you know, the Lakers fans have been sort of putting Kuminga on their team in their head. And look, maybe it does get done, but Kuminga, he wouldn't control his contract. That first year salary, even if it's higher, would be less than he thinks his value is, right or wrong.

Saddens me Vit Krejci isn't a hawk anymore. I would MUCH RATHER have him on this roster than Kispert or Hield and it's not close for me.

I don't blame you here. Vit is a much better asset than Kispert or Hield
