Who are the most “trade-able” PFs?

Post#1 » by louc1970 » Fri Aug 21, 2026 8:46 pm

Just looking around the league, who are the PFs that would be better served if they were to sent to a new team?

Grant Williams probably has no role in Charlotte this year with Naz, Moose, Hannes, Kalk, and Royce O'Neale eating all of the 4/5 minutes.

idk who is looking for a 6'5 C/PF in the age of wemby, but he's been pretty good as a micro-ball PJ Tucker-esque 5 for us when he's played that role, before and after the knee injury.

I like Jalen Smith a lot for the Bulls-perfect 3rd big for any team. But, he's had health issues and is expiring.

Not sure what he's worth, but I think a lot of teams would love to have him in their rotation

This is a pretty ambiguous question. Players who might benefit from a change of scenery may not be the most tradeable, or available for that matter.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I doubt BRK is really that attached to Randle...or even MPJ

I think Mavs should trade him, but I don't think they want to.

I would've been totally willing to trade Strus and 2nd for J. Smith before the Watson trade, but the Cavs roster is probably locked at this point.
This will end badly

I thought for sure MPJ would have gotten traded. Now that he’s going into the season as an expiring, seems like the Nets missed their optimal time to trade him. Would love to see him (or Randle) on the Pistons, although each is 2-3 times what the Pistons are paying for Collins.

i assume the Nets are trying to be competitive and their backup forward options aren't ready to start.

Jalen Smith has been my dream target for the Timberwolves for at least a year

I keep thinking about Minnesota trading Josh Green for Taylor Hendricks, but I have no idea what Memphis would require for incentive. The Wolves draft asset cupboard is pretty bare.

Only possible deal is DDV and a future 1st or unprotected swap for JSmith. Saves Minny some salary/tax, and gets a great fit for a win-now team

DDV can resign back in Minny next year, since he's out this year

Josh Green makes more sense from Minnesota’s perspective as a salary ballast. Also, Wolves don’t have a future 1st to trade and are pretty much maxed out on their swaps too.

They really don’t even have any 2nds to move.

TSJ would probably be the youngest player with the most upside they’d move but I think they’re hoping he is healthy this year and gives them performances like he did at the end of the last two years going forward.

I think the NBA’s changed so that fifth starters aren’t bringing back a future 1st, and it’s more likely multiple seconds, like Ayo.

MIN doesn’t have either of course, and they’ve already mortgaged out their swaps.

Yes unfortunately, even though he's my dream target, I would be surprised if it became reality.

Didn't realize Minny's pick situation was so bad, but they do have a 2032 swap available-not sure if Chi would be interested in such a future pick

MAYBE a 3rd team would absorb Dillingham for a 2nd from Chi? Josh Green would be better for us, since he can play-but he makes too much for a straight swap with Smith. And I don't think it'd be legal to send LMiller back to Minny (JSmith/LMiller for JGreen, 2032 swap)

If a 3rd team would take DIllingham for a 2nd, Chi might bite
JSmith to Minny
Dillingham/Chi 2nd to 3rd team
JGreen, 2032 swap to Chi

Minny gets a GREAT fit, I assume would start, and saves A LOT of money ($5 million in salary, a lot more in tax)
3rd team gets a look at dillingham and a 2nd. Would Char do it?
Bulls get a SG and add a future swap (would have to be unprotected, that far out). Bulls would have to sign another C, but that shouldn't be an issue-this is a development year anyway for Chi-wins are not top priority

We'd also have our Room Exemption of $9.4 million to absorb another player and add another draft asset (Nnaji from Den)

The Bulls' have a nice young core and some solid vets-enough to be decent. Would love to add some future assets, for flexibility next summer, once we know what all our young talent looks like
