Its a bad deal for the Sonics.

The difference between Gooden and Collison is not much.
Shanon Brown for Ridnour are just probably equal because they got an expiring in Newble.

But I wouldn't take the extra year on Hughes contract wort $14m for Wally and thats where the big issue is.

Can see the benefit why the Sonics do this deal.

Even setting aside the contract difference, Wally's numbers are better than Hughes's so far this season.

It wouldn't be in Seattle's best interest to even contemplate something like this. Hughes does nothing for the Sonics future, Szczerbiak is playing a good role and has one year left, Collison plays much tougher defense than Gooden, which is the biggest need for Seattle, so it's a no go from the start.

Ridnour might be attainable, and even though he is BYC Seattle has two trade excemptions left that could cover the difference of them only being allowed to take back half his salary, so that's a route to possibly go.

Neither team does it. Cleveland a defensive team and Seattle is young and building.

This has to be the worst, most one sided, trade proposal that has been posted in this entire season.

I cant imagine how bad the Cavs defense would be with Wally starting at SG and Ridnour at the point. No way that Coach Brown would approve this one.

This is horrible for Seattle. If Clevland wants to get rid of Hughes they are not going to get anything of value back people need to realize this.

I agree that the Sonics wouldn't do it, while Ridnour probably wouldn't solve the Cavs PG issues either.

Swapping of Watson for Newble, Simmons might make more sense.

Due the the heinous nature of this trade proposal, and the resulting nightmares the mere thought of having Larry Hughes one's roster causes, I hereby respectfully request that moderators henceforth enforce a new rule whereby anyone offering up a Larry Hughes trade be compelled to read every word on this website...
