Chicago Trade Breakdown

Change in Team Outlook: +1.6 ppg, -4.5 rpg, and +1.1 apg.

Incoming Players

Carl Landry
6-8 PF from Purdue
2.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 5.7 minutes

Tracy McGrady
6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS)
22.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 5.1 apg in 35.2 minutes

Outgoing Players

Ben Gordon
6-3 SG / PG from Connecticut
19.0 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.8 apg in 35.7 minutes

Ben Wallace
6-9 C from Virginia Union
4.2 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 1.9 apg in 32.2 minutes

Chicago finally has a defenitive go to guy on offense with Mcgrady and can now give more playing time to Noah, Thomas and Nocioni. Chicago improves their offense with this trade while getting rid of Ben's contract and not having to worry about resigning Ben Gordon or not.

Houston gets a scorer to replace T-mac with Gordon AND gets Ben Wallace to put aside Yao Ming. Houston improves defense with this trade while getting a capable scorer to replace T-mac.

Thoughts? Good for both teams?

Definite "no" from Houston. Ben Wallace is a negative, especially for a team already paying big bucks for their current C. And then when Gordon demands his big extension in the offseason, that team is going to plunge WAAAAY into the luxury tax, and arguably still be a worse team than they are now. No chance.
