For Denver: They get Andre Miller back who knows the system and a great young prospect in Williams who will help replace cambys shot blocking and rebounding. They also shorten Cambys contract by a year.


For Jersey: They go to win now mode and get Camby relatively cheap while dumping Collins. Anthony Carter also gives them a VERY good backup PG. They can put lotto protection on the outgoing pick.

For Philly: they get 2 picks and 2 prospects for Dre Miller. The 6 million in cash essentially makes Collins an expiring. The Jersey pick could end up being very good (though Jersey would probably put protection on it.....maybe lotto protected?)

This isn't a bad deal for Philly but in a way this is worse than most of the other Miller deals in which he is sent out for an expiring an a pick. I think Collins' contract is a killer for me.

The 6 mill in cash is supposed to counter balance that. Of course, it doesnt come off of the cap, but the sixers dont have to worry about the cap next season so its pretty irrelevant.

Maybe the nets add magloire for willie green?

Another option could be adding in Magloire for Reggie Evans.

With Camby, Kidd and Evans on the court in Jersey they would absolutely dominate the boards.

problem is, it only cuts $3.8 mil off next year's payroll, which puts us at around $14 mil. the $6 mil in cash doesn't cut our cap money. the deal would have to include evans for magloire or some mix of denver players including probably j.r. to work, which then would add $4.7 mil. total: $8.5 mil and, more relevantly, $18.5 mil for the gilbert arenas fund.

Since when can you include 6 mill cash in a trade? I thought the max was 3 million. EDIT nevermind I see 3 mill from each team.

And if you have to bribe a team with 6 mill cash, its probably a bad trade lol I think Collins really stinks as a player.

it could be; depends on how much he wants. he's 29, 6'8" (a good 6'8", but still 6'8" at four), coming off an injury. if he wants five for $75 mil/six for $90 mil, that gets him up close to the end of his career (35 years old); probably a good acquisition.

arenas is 26, right size for a guard, exciting (=$$$$$ at the gate), coming off an injury. five for $75 mil/six for $90 mil, he'd be iverson's age when his contract ends.

If they move both Miller and Evans, they can probably sign Kurt Thomas ($3 mil for three) while Thad (who's still growing), Jason Smith, Herbert Hill compete for minutes, with Hill and Smith playing backup at both four and five.

And if they trade Miller they should get a top 12 pick in the draft, perhaps move up a couple of spaces by combining picks: their own plus whatever protected pick they get for Miller...

They can also make a run at Josh Smith (payback for Sam's now only slightly inflated contract, considering that he's improved so much).

You have the rule wrong. The rule is that a team cannot receive more than $3 million in a trade. Not that a team is only allowed to send out $3 million.

Cut the Nets out of this deal. We have no use for it.

We may be open to trading Sean and/or Nenad for a veteran bigman, but he has to be elite and a defensive AND offensive option, someone who can legitimately draw double-teams and anchor the defense. Camby is nice, and would help our rebounding and shotblocking, but is not the weapon inside we truly need.

After hearing Stefanski all over the place, it looks like he is building to win next year. It wouldn't suprise me if Stafanski makes a trade deadline move to try to improve this year. He was on local radio today. He stated that one thing that you will never hear him say. "Patience".

It sounds like he would have to be blown away to trade Miller. This is blowing anybody away. Denvers 2nd rounder sucks and isn't worth a dam and Collins has a 1 year left on this. Ah flat out NO.
