They get a legit low-post offensive threat in Gasol, and a perimeter threat to replace Jefferson in JCN. They take on two bad contracts (Cardinal's and Gadzuric's), but it might be worth it as this should push them back into contention in the East. Cardinal's shooting can help (a la Nachbar), while Gadzuric can give them 10-15 mins at C providing decent defense.

They save a lot of money by removing Gasol's and Cardinal's long deals and getting short/expiring contracts of Mason's, Magloire's and Nachbar's. Bogut is a good center and is young enough for them to rebuild with.

They need a SF badly, and Jefferson is one who complements Redd's game really well, with his slashing and defensive abilities. Boone comes in to offset the loss of Bogut. The swap of Gadzuric for Collins is a wash in terms of talent, but Collins' contract is two years shorter.

RJ is worth at least as much as Pau, so no way should Jersey have to take on BOTH Cardinal and Gadz, AND give up a 1st. Horrible for JErsey.

Sean Williams would be a more sought after target for Memphis than Richard Jefferson in a deal involving Gasol.

It's a steep price. But low post scorers don't grow on trees. You DO have to pay to get someone like Gasol. And it's not like the Nets have to gut their team to get him. They get a nice replacement at the wing with Navarro anyways. (and it's mind-boggling to me that people are treating Navarro like a scrub throw-in in trades)

The steep price should be giving up Jefferson. Not giving up a pick and taking on 2 god awful contracts. And at this point Navarro is as much a throw in as Boone or Boki.

I would rather the Bucks cut out NJ, add in **** expirings and a first and get Gasol themselves.

NJ shouldn't have to shoulder Gadz and Cardinal in this proposal. Gasol isn't THAT much of an upgrade to RJ.

JCN is OK, but we don't need him. We would prefer a full-sized wing if Jefferson and Nachbar are leaving.

I don't really grasp why you've included MIL, HotSpurs21. I mean, they DO need a SF, whereas MEM obviously doesn't; but the price the Bucks charge to spin a top 10 SF into a top 15 C for MEM is steep, and the incoming value is too nice for them IMO. Is MEM that high on Bogut? Surely MEM is indifferent about Mason. I would just as soon deal directly with MEM in this one, and give them Krstic+Boone.

My ideal proposal with MEM would be Magloire, Collins, Nachbar, Krstic, Sean Williams (or Boone), Armstrong and a future 1st for Gasol, Cardinal, Jacobsen (or Brown) and Navarro (Trade ID #4381781). MEM would waive Armstrong, and then they'd be at 15 on their roster.

It's fair, but I'd much rather go with a Redd for RJ swap if he's making the trip to Milwaukee. I just don't see it with Redd. I'd like to keep Yi and Bogut together because I feel they complement each other extremely well. I just don't see a Redd and Mo back court EVER working. So one of those guys has to go IMO.

I don't think this helps Milwaukee long term. With Yi we are thinking more long terms anyways. Some Bucks fans are critical because he was a number one overall pick but I think is a solid center and those are hard to find now days. 3's are a lot easier to find and I would much rather trade Redd over Bogut. I would not do this trade it is not bad just not what we are looking for for the future. I like Bogut and Yi togather as well and want that to be the furure for Milwaukee. So I would decline this trade because it creates a hole for us at center. I don't see us having a good future with RJ and Redd and Mo and have those centers for our centers. This I think would make us a playoff team but 1st round wipe every year. It is a band aid for us that won't fix a whole lot. Bogut and Yi are the future for Milwaukee. So I would not trade either of those peices.

If the main incentive for the Grizz in a Gasol deal is financial, then it's dead in the water. The Grizz will not be shortchanged on talent just to save a buck. With that said, Bogut and a handful of role players is not enough to land Gasol IMO.

i like it for NJ...if it could be done w/o giving up our 1st i would like it more, but i would most likely do this deal
