Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Chicago and Golden State being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Chicago and Golden State had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Trade ID
Trade ID #4381776
Every trade made by fans is allocated a unique Trade ID which you can share with friends and fellow basketball fans to allow them to see your trade scenario.
Mickael Pietrus
6-6 SG / SF from France (Foreign)
6.0 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 0.6 apg in 17.3 minutes
For
Chris Duhon
6-1 PG from Duke
5.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 3.5 apg in 22.0 minutes
Lets see... Chicago gets a legit shooting guard that can perhaps make a legit 3 guard rotation with Kirk and Ben.
Golden State gets a rotation worthy point guard who can shoot the three.
2nd round picks can be added or swapped if need be.
Any thoughts and suggestions?

one thing people forget is a lot of GSW success is due to hustle type players like pietrus and barnes who may not put up huge stats but are solid players. we pass on puhon. I'd rather sign earl boykins, haha

As a Dub's fan I would do this deal, but its too simple to get done and therefore shouldnt be on this board..
Does anybody know where a fantasy trade board might be around???

I'd take that deal. A minor detail though.
Pietrus can veto any deal, and he wants 35 minutes a game. In Chicago he'd be lucky to get 25.

Hmmmm
96 backcourt minutes to go around. Lets say Pietrus can backup SF for about 8 minutes a game. Thats 27 minutes left to dish out.
96-27=69
That leaves 34/35 minutes for Hinrich and Gordon too.
It could happen. Overall though, Chicago would be much better off trading Nocioni for the 2/3 player they need, and then using Duhon for something else if they can get good value for him.

If Pietrus gets in the right situation he can explode. GSW has an abundance of SF/SG types and is weak at teaching a talented guy the few skills he needs to step up. GSW would do it. Do the Bulls take the chance he's just a temp?
A team with Pietrus-Thomas-Noah has some D/speed going. Could evolve.

I agree, but will Mickael want to stay if he's not given that 35 minutes? It seems to me that he believes he's a starter in this league. A tag I think is a bit pre-mature.
Haley: Right now, we run a 3-guard rotation of Gordon, Hinrich & Duhon. Only Ben and Kirk are seing more than 35 MPG. For your idea to succeed we would have to:
- Trade Nocioni (As you mentioned)
- Give Thabo 0 minutes (Not that we'll be missing much)
By trading Nocioni for a 2-3, why have Pietrus as well? It'd be much easier to trade Nocioni for a 2-3 and move Duhon for a bench warming point guard and a 2nd rounder.
There's another Warrior I'm interested in. Kelenna Azubuike. But I have a feeling he isn't available, correct?

Seems like Bulls fan approve the trade so just a question, where would Pietrus fit on the team??
I understand he's a bigger guard which they could use, but they already have Deng and Nocioni at his most natural position and he wouldn't get any minutes over Gordon either. He'd battle with Thabo over essentially 14 minutes a game. Also who'd backup Hinrich after this trade?

Pietrus is too mistake prone to label him solid, IMO. He can rebound sorta well at times, can block shots, shoot the 3 off the catch, is somewhat of a high flyer, decent defense, decent energy at times.
What he also has is stupid mistakes that could have been improved on 2 years ago...traveling, stepping out of bounds when he begins the drive, stupid fouls, chucks(although he's not alone), bonehead play in general.

Pietrus >>Thabo but I'd wonder about the backup PG for Chi.

All of that--except you need some sense of proportion. Fact is he's always max energy...which is half of his flaws. The "stupid foul-step out of bounds stuff...it's real but WTF...look at Tyrus Thomas or Thabo or Wallace. These are SIXTH MAN types we are talking. Duhon..on GSW is mere insurance behind Ellis/Davis. Pietrus is 4" bigger than Gordon or a couple steps faster than Nocioni.....Nobody gets major impact.
Pietrus is not consistant. ranges from bad to amazing. Duhon is a more consistant "adequate". No dispute there. I could see GSW adding something minor mostly because Pietrus' future (UFA) is hazy.
