u forgot to add that the lakers also trade vlad radmanovic. whatever the case, the lakers are not getting ben gordon for simply taking on wallace for expirings. heck, its not even expirings, its dumping vlad. this is god awful for the bulls though.

There have been few trades on the history of this board worse than this one is for the Bulls. Congrats!

thanks cliff.

anyways, i think this deal makes the bulls a much stable team. we are able to get a bigger two guard, a real player downlow and kwame browns expiring. Chucky Atkins is a serviceable point for now. This is the mini rebuild that needs to be taken to fix this team. Ben Gordon is imo not part of this teams future, i think he will be gone in a year or two. Hinrich has deficiancies on this team as the point. I think it is time to rebuild this team by getting rid of some of the dead weight on the team.

no they wouldn't. not at all. ben gordon is due a huge extension at a position where the lakers already have fisher/farmar/critt. ben wallace is turning into crap. there is zero chance the lakers include odom.

Fisher is not that great and Critt has done nothing to prove anything. I think the guard rotation for the lakers would be Bryant, Gordon, and Farmar for the most part. Wallace is far from crap, it is just he is such a terrible fit for the bulls. You have bynum to pick up his offensive deficiencies.

Cliff has it dead to rights. Horrible for Chicago. They get older and worse for no apparent reason or direction. Camby is nice. The only other piece of value is Magette and he will be an unrestricted free agent.

I would think the Bulls could get Camby for less than Hinrich, Smith, Gordon and Nocioni if he was available.

i fail to see how this is as horrible as people make it out to be. We also will have around 10 million coming off the books extra with this deal in Kwame Brown and Sasha Vujacic. Atkins is only making 3mil this season and is a decent player at the point. Not saying this is the most wonderful deal for the bulls, but we gotta start doing something.

Well, the first question is: Why is it a good thing to have a lot of money coming off the books? Unless you are getting way under the cap (which Chicago would not be) its pretty meaningless other than saving Reinsdorf money.

Does the team have to do something? Yeah, it would be nice. However, the last thing you want to do is panic. Ideally, Chicago would trade several players for a player better than anyone on the roster. Doing that is going to take patience. Fortunately, everyone on the team other than Wallace and Smith are young. The team can afford to be patient.

The last thing I would want the team to do is to dump just enough salary to be barely over the salary cap, while getting older and less talented in the transaction.

Alright coldfish you convinced me. Im just sick of the team underperforming. I was expecting big things outta our team, and its just frustrating seeing the team do so poorly. We waited a long time for this team to get out of the lottery, i just want to see this team do good.

Just remember:
Brand for Chandler
Artest and Miller for Jalen Rose
Chandler for PJ Brown

All of those horrible trades were somewhat precipitated by an overreaction to poor play. Sell high, not low. Basically, IMO, if you would not have considered a deal being proposed now in August of this year, you probably shouldn't do it.
