I don't really like jr too much. He's a good shooter, but we need someone that will play defense and do the little things besides score. I feel the same way about McCants. He's got some value, he's just not a great fit.

That is so funny. I can remember 10 games ago whereas you have more mood swings than my girlfriend on her rag.

I don't over-react and do STUPID trades because of playing time in the last 2-3 games.

Oh, and if that other trade was just salary, there is Ager, I'm not stupid enough to believe Barea was only in for "salary."

i doubt u have a girlfriend thats capable of having a rag, i never knew blow up dolls had cycles. diop is a decent player with height, all he can do is block shots, hes a terrible rebounder who can finish or score

Yet he is the 2nd best rebounder mentioned on this thread at 5.3 with just 17.9 min. 1st being Evans who barley edges him out at a much higher cost contract wise. Yes, better rebounder than than Wallace, Shaq and Blatche.

If he's healthy enough to give us 20-24 MPG in the playoffs, hell yes.

What???? It needed a minimum salary player to work and Toronto is down a point guard. Who would you have picked?

But maybe you're right. How dare someone put the almighty Barea in a trade!

Okay, whatever the reasoning. I still think we are better off standing pat.

Maybe Doleac + MIN 2nd for Diop and Ager, Gerald Green for a DAL TPE.

Who's McCants at all? Never heard about him. Sounds like a bust or so-so player. Desagana Diop is still a top blocker per minutes in the league. And he's drafted 8th overall. He's bench intentionally for experiment purpose. Avery is figuring out the best rate to use Damp, Diop, and Bass.

I just think about this one. How does it sound?

Dallas gets:
Darko Milicic
7-0 C from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign)
6.6 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.0 apg in 25.0 minutes

Memphis gets:
DeSagana Diop
7-0 C from Oak Hill Academy (HS)
3.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.5 apg in 17.9 minutes

Trenton Hassell
6-5 SG from Austin Peay
2.3 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 14.1 minutes

2009 first round pick

I'll give part of the MLE for him.

... when he's a free agent in five months.

You underestimate what he is going to get. If he leaves the mavs, it will be to some team offering full MLE.

Diop is going to command full MLE, minimum, and will have several suiters at that price. Too bad his timing is off; in 2009, when many more teams are likely to be under the cap, Diop is the kind of guy who somehow ends up with an 8 figure deal.

Before Dampier came back. 5.7 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 2.7 bpg in 29 minutes.

I don't know that he'll get full MLE, but he's only 25 and could pretty easily improve on those numbers if he was given a consistent starting job.

25 years old. 7 feet tall. Those are the numbers that matter. And no one is asking him for any offense - he'd be getting 12-14 ppg just on dunks in a system like Phoenix. Look at the kinds of deals other young big men have gotten. Diop will get full MLE, minimum.
