ATL/SEA/UT...nothing major

*Please keep in mind that I know little to nothing about Atlanta's situation so I'm mostly guessing and going off of the "team needs" sticky.

http://realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4382874

Utah:
In-Kurt Thomas, Shelden Williams
Out-Memo Okur, Ronnie Price

With Korver and Miles lighting it up, Memo just isn't needed as much in Salt Lake. Thomas steps in to fill the leadership void left by Fisher, and provides a solid post defender to help with the postseason push. Thomas would likely re-sign, but the Jazz also get Williams just in case KT leaves.

Seattle:
In-Zaza Pachulia, Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright
Out-Kurt Thomas, Earl Watson, 2nd rounder

They use Thomas to clear out Watson's salary. Lue and Wright are bought out.

Atlanta:
In-Memo Okur, Ronnie Price, Earl Watson, 2nd Rounder
Out-Zaza Pachulia, Shelden Williams, Ty Lue, Zo Wright

They bring in a capable scoring big man that can hit from outside. They also get a decent point guard to share time with Johnson while they groom Acie. Price is filler.

Would ATL do Childress instead of Shelden?

I think the value is already good in this trade, but I say that because if ATL moves all of its expirings, they won't be able to re-sign both Smith and Childress, and stay under the cap. Childress would probably end up walking, so including him in the trade (while keeping Shelden, who doubles Millsap) might be better than letting him leave for nothing.

SEA gets a decent deal, but it's probably not the best salary dump offer they've fielded.

If UTA is going this small, they might as well start Millsap alongside Boozer. Regardless, Thomas would be a valued rotation player. Solid trade, but maybe not ideal for anyone.

I don't like it for Utah, they need something more. Maybe a good backup point gaurd, or a pick....or both if you really want to be nice.

I have an alteration to the deal; and since I'm already in the habit this morning, I'll make a new thread for it...

Utah will like the defense that Kurt brings, but giving up Okur for Kurt's rental and a mediocre Shelden seems like overkill to me.

Find Utah better, younger defensive center and I think they would be willing to part with that package.

Absolutely love it for Atlanta, but it seems like Utah isn't happy.

M Sene is a younger defensive center, but he's still a year or two away. If he ever makes it.

See, that's why I'd be comfortable with trading for THomas-they already have a young defensive guy in Fesenko. He's not ready yet, but by the time Thomas is done, he will be.

As a Jazz fan I'd do Okur for Thomas straight up if I could, but Seattle doesn't want the salary.

Okur to ATL would be a big help, but i think Horford is doing just fine
