How to fix the Knicks...

Post#1 » by nyk2423 » Thu Jan 3, 2008 10:07 pm

Knicks trade Zach and Curry to the Heat for Shaq and a 1st rd pick. Then trade Lee,Nate,Fred Jones,Q,and Balk for Artest,Kenny Thomas and a 1st and 2nd rd pick.

Marbury/M.Collins/Crawford
W.Chandler/Crawford/Marbury
Jeffries/Artest/W.Chandler
Artest/K.Thomas/Malik
Shaq/R.Morris/J.James

We draft Derrick Rose From Memphis with our own pick. Then Draft Donte Greene from Syracuse with the Heat pick(should be around 9-13).Then draft Brook Lopez from Stanford with the Kings pick(should be around 12-14).Then draft Courtney Lee from Western Kentucky with the Kings 2nd rd pick.

The 08-09 New York Knicks roster is....

Derrick Rose/Marbury/Mardy
W.Chandler/Crawford/Courteny Lee
Artest/W.Chandler/Jeffries
Greene/Jeffries/Malik
Shaq/Brook Lopez/R.Morris/Jerome James

What do you guys think????

Great idea.

Except neither of those teams are trading lotto picks for the Knicks players they get.

I think the Knicks don't get enough
j/k

This is absolutely absurd.
There is no chance of either of these deals happening.

How about this for an idea? We should all agree that dealing Zach Randolph or Eddy Curry is a really dumb move let alone dealing both for that expensive dinosaur. Shaq is on his way out.

It's a really smart idea if you're getting our lotto pick...for you guys. Rather awful for us though. And Miami also passes on Zach+Curry for Shaq. Zach's contract is just too damn awful.

No it wouldn't. We gave up picks equally good or better than the Heat pick just to get Curry so why would we trade him and a very productive Randolph for a dinosaur like Shaq and another pick. Besides, I think the Heat would be better off with their pick anywayz because they really need an infusion of young talent rather than trade it to have the same problem the Knicks are currently having. So maybe neither team makes this trade but that doesn't make it fair.

Because Zeke made a huge mistake that no other GM would ever make.

I don't see anyone trading with the Knicks any time soon... except for a shorter contract. Maybe they can get Larry Hughes.

Zach is a 6 foot 10 inconsistent jump shooting PF. Curry is big, but can't rebound or make FTs. Marbury is a problem child. Crawford shoots under 40%. Q shoots under 32%. Robinson is only 5 foot 9. Rose is past his prime. Jeffries and James have hideous contracts and don't even have one dimension worthy of mentioning.

The Knicks are 5 years from beginning their rebuilding process and 10 years from competing... If they do things right.

For the Knicks to begin rebuilding, they'll need to first realize that their team sucks. Frankly, the ownership and the management has no idea that this is the case. Once they do, they'll need to use teams that are desperate for extra talent and willing to take on a little risk to unload some of the players. The Lakers, perhaps Orlando or Dallas, Houston, someone looking to bring in unquestionable talent, but perhaps have a bad contract or attitude problems. After that, use the young talent, the desirable players like Balkman, Lee, Robinson (depending on point of view), Chandler, and Collins to get rid of other undesirable players and contracts. Don't trade Marbury ... buy him out.

For instance:
Jamal Crawford to the Rockets for Mike James and Kirk Snyder.
Zach Randolph and Randolph Morris to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Vlad Rad, and a protected future pick
Eddie Curry to wherever for shorter contracts, someone will be stupid enough to trade for him, Nets? Atlanta? Dallas? Chicago?

Apparently there are people who would actually make worse GMs than Isiah Thomas. I never thought it would be possible but this certainly was an unpleasant surprise.

The topic posts an impossible Question, you have a better chance of making water not wet than fixing the Knicks

Ummm that's actually not difficult. Ice is frozen water and as long as it isn't defrosting it isn't wet to the touch. The longer you touch it the quicker your body heat will begin to melt it but initially it wouldn't be wet. Or if you boil water to the point where it turns into water vapor it'll eventually disperse to the point where it is no more wet than anything else.

I know you're just trying to make a point but I am a certified pain in the ***.
