Redd is possibly being shopped, whaddya got?

Post#1 » by EastSideBucksFan » Fri Jan 4, 2008 7:05 pm

We're having some serious discussions on the Bucks board regarding Redd.

Various media tidbits have been surfacing over the last few days regarding the team being blown up, Larry Harris being fired for Rick Sund, Peter Vecsey reported a Redd for TMac rumor, and it's basically being insinuated only Bogut/Yi are untouchable.

To try and gauge Redd's value what teams out there would be interested and what could they offer for him at this point?

Cleavland, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Orlando, Utah, Toronto, Washington all could be interested.

Cleavland would probably offer the most just because of how much they want/wanted Redd, but I can't see Mil trading him to a division rival.

If true Cle will try their hardest to land him, Lebron wanted him there.

Redd For Calderon Parker and Rasho.

Works in the trade checker, maybe throw in a second rounder to.... Milwaukee needs a pass first point guard with calderon, he would fit in nicely with the international feel.. then rasho would be a good mentor for two young bigs especially bogut...and Parker can fit in anywhere a solid 2 guard in the league...

The Bucks need to get rid of Mo Williams.

Washington is not interested. They don't need Redd at his salary. The acquisition would result in massive luxtax payments.

I don't think Redd is the cause of Milwaukee's woes. Milwaukee needs a defensive presence in the paint. Trading Bogut for a guy like Dalembert or Haywood would probably be a better solution.

I wish we could trade someone for Redd in the Magic.

But I don't know what pieces to get him. But damnit, that Rashard Contract really messed us up

Something based around Boobie and Varejao might be a start.

I've never been a Redd fan, always perceived him as one of the weakest defensive SG in the league.

I think he has quite a bit of value to the right teams though. Cleveland certainly stands out as a very good fit (though I'm not sure they have the pieces to acquire him).

I think he'd fit in nicely on the Jazz, giving them a strong perimeter threat that they need. But Brewer has been playing well, so they probably wouldn't pursue him. He'd probably play well for the Heat alongside Wade as well.

As far as the pieces to acquire him... I'm having trouble finding a good scenario for any of the teams I mentioned. They all either don't have the expiring salaries necessary, or good prospects the Bucks would want. Generally though, I'd say he's worth a decent prospect and a mid/low-lotto pick (plus expirings).

He'd be nice on the Suns, but I can't see them giving up anything other than a Raja/Barbosa/Diaw package....

for the suns, i wouldn't even want to do raja for redd. bell is a great fit for the suns and they maximize his talent. redd would basically be required to do the same thing except without the elite defense and the hefty price tag. he'd be a waste there.

Cleveland or Miami would probably push the hardest for Redd.
