What is JO's value? (sending him to Miami)

Post#1 » by JNichols42887 » Fri Jan 4, 2008 8:03 pm

Would Indy do something like this?

Indiana trades: Jermaine O'Neal
Miami trades: Dorrell Wright (young), Ricky Davis (expiring), Jason Williams (expiring), future 1st (can't trade this year's)

Why for Indy: Cuts costs plus gives them two strong pieces for the future
Why for Miami: This would greatly improve the interior D and allow them to trade Haslem for a scorer on the outside.

I assume the Pacers have no interest in Haslem.

Pacers already have Granger who is better than Wright. The 1st being extended out a year or 2 doens't help them either. The package will have to be a bit better to peak their interest.

The lockout affected them all a little differently, a couple of them went completely stark raving nuts.

I don't really want JO in Miami. He's not what we need. We already have one washed up bigman. Do we really need another?

I would say JO, Harrison, Graham and Wade's MU buddy Diener for Williams, Davis, Parker, Wright, Cook and a future 1st (Trade ID #4386388) would be fair.

I'm not sure either side would bite, though...

I never said any certain name...

...btw, have you heard that old Cat Stevens hit? Man, it's a great song. Something about this thread reminded me of it...

Nah, I'm just giving you grief!

Since when is JO washed up? Have you actually watched a Pacers game or just looked at stats?

Anyway, Pacers pass. This trade down grades just about every position.

You assume wrong

Without JONeal...we would be dependant on Murphy, Diogu, Foster and Harrison to man the PF/C rotation. Unfortunately, the last 3 ( Diogu, Foster and Harrison ) haven't proven to be very healthy as of late. If JONeal is moved....we would need a solid Big Man who can rebound, provide solid defense and score in the Low-Post.

I would consider the following:

Indy Out:

- JONeal+Deiner+Graham

Miami Out:

-JWill+Earl Barron+Blount+Cook

or

-JWill+Earl Barron+Haslem+Dorell Wright
