Why for Chicago: Salary dump & another quick rebuilding. We dump all of the long term contracts for shorter contracts & picks. We have enough money to extend Gordon, Deng & Maggette while adding two 1st rounders next year. We may have to play Gordon as starting PG.
Why for Cleveland: they find their PG and after the trade they'll be able to contend with the Celtics. The price for that is taking on more salary and going even deeper in the lux tax.
Why for Clippers: The way Maggette plays this season, it's probable he'll opr out and Clippers might lose him for nothing. This way they get Nocioni and two young players.
Why for Phoenix: They save a lot of $$$ by dumping Banks, upgrade the talent level (they're high on Sefolosha and Khryapa might work in Suns' system), but they lose Atlanta's pick (which may be not even be in the lottery, probably in the teens)
