Lakers-Rockets - Shane Battier to the Lakers

Post#1 » by B-Scott » Fri Jan 4, 2008 11:19 pm

Rockets Get - Radmanovik, Jordan Farmar

Lakers Get - Shane Battier

Why for Rockets? With Yao dominating from the center position, Rad gives them a guy who can spread the defense and take power forwards away from the basket and that would give Yao more 1 on 1 opportunities. Jordan Farmar gives them a upgrade at the PG position, along with youth. He's also a better spot up shooter then Alston who is currently the Rockets PG.

C Yao Ming
PF Radmanovik
SF Bonzi Wells
SG T-mac
PG Jordan Farmar

Lakers

C Bynum
PF Lamar
SF Battier
SG Kobe
PG Fisher

Your going to have to do a lot better than that to get something decent for Radman's contract. Houston doesn't need any more PGs anyway. We like what we have in Brooks.

Every B-Scott trade just has the Lakers ripping off the other team.

I could not see a way that the Lakers pay Walton and Battier a combined ten million a year for the next four years. Plus, they give up a PG of the future in Farmar for at best a fourth option on offense?

Fourth option on offense... true, but Battier is also a top 5 wing defender in the league and one of the best glue guys. Rockets says NO to this. We already have 4 point guards that are better or equal to Farmar, and we have to take on Rad's stupid contract? NO
