Hell no for Miami. No prospects and long, bad, contracts means no interest from the Heat.

Edit: You included Ricky, too? That's outrageous! We can't rebuild with this, we're not particularly good with this, we're just stuck in longterm salary cap hell with this...

Well what do you expect.. There arent many teams like boston last year with tonnes of youngsters and a bad contact

Call me crazy, but I expect to somehow improve our position, not make it significantly worse. Terry and Dampier expire after Shaq, and Stackhouse expires two years after Ricky. We're not rebuilding, we're borderline playoffs with this. What's the point?

This doesn't give us any direction at all. If we're dealing Shaq, it's got to be to rebuild, not to become the Knicks...

Anytime you're getting a popular Australian food chain in return, you know it's a good deal.

"Steakhouse" Terry Dampier would be an awesome pro wrestler.

As to the OP, the trade doesn't improve Miami nearly enough to take on all that money. No go.

Yeah. We pass on Erika. It would have to be a Keith Van Horn S&T.

a team that is 8-24 and behind the knicks for teh worst Eastern conference record is a borderline playoff team? mmm

A trade proposed on dallas radio was KVH S&T for 1 year at low end of Shaq contract for 1 year for shaq. Mavs might include their 1s. I want to include ager and fazekas, and balance KVH.

I was talking about after the trade, hence the phrase "with this".

He means with the trade. But we don't really want to be borderline playoffs. We're better off rebuilding.

Now we're talking! Everytime I've mentioned it though, I've been bombarded with crap about how we'd haver to swallow Dampier's deal, which makes it ridiculous for us.

BTW, if memory serves, the aforementioned deal included Diop.

In 2009-2010? A 20 million dollar expiring would have more value than that...

As for the original trade, Dallas has no interest in Davis and Miami has no interest in Stack or Terry.

As for the KVH topic, The Shaq & Damp combo meal is too expensive for even Cuban's wallet even though I would love to see them both play 24 min at C for Dallas (Shaq with the post-ups and Dampier with the pick & rolls). 188 mil over 3 years (counting lux tax) for a center position that will constantly have someone on the injured list is just plain out stupid, thus Cuban would not make that bad buisness decision.

Any trade that lands Shaq in Dallas starts with Dampier leaving (once again, not saying he has to land in Miami) with us retaining Diop as our backup. Knowing that, I don't think Shaq will ever be in a Mavs uniform.

I dont think any trade for Miami will make them be a "borderline playoff team" this year. Hto, they did give dal a good run last night

Miami rapes in that deal and Dallas doesn't touch it. We are not here for the other teams to $hit on.

Miami gets nothing it wants in that deal.

Agreed. Diop would make a nice backup C though.
