Why for Sacramento? Get out of Bibbys contract, get a true team chemistry/glue guy in Battier, who can replace Artest at the end of the season. They could also try playing Artest at PF and running as they are playing a young and atheletic team at the moment. Landry is a decent prospect who can do the dirty work and cover Hawes and Millers weak points. Alston is a downgrade from bibby but he stays relatively healthy, has a less onerous contract and can split time with Udrih.
Why for Houston? Reading the team needs forum I matched these two teams up, Bibby gives them a reliable 3rd star and playmaker at the PG. They would probably need a follow up deal to deal some guards and cover the loss of Battier at the 3. But Bibby could give this team a real boost and revitalize his career at Houston. He brings loads of Clutchiness and playoff experience.

Alston has 1 more year than Bibby and Battier has 2 more years than Bibby. May want to check that next time.

Salmons is already doing a better job at that than Battier could and he costs less.

Justin Williams > Landy.
No from the Kings. This trade doesn't help them in 1 single way.

Kings are actually a very deep team...we have FOUR starters down right now and the team is still competitive in nearly every single game. I don't know how many teams can afford to lose FOUR starters and still remain competitive. Our bench, who started, kicked the crap out of the Knicks the other night.

You can't say "get rid of Bibby's contract" when the guys the Kings get back both have longer deals and (over those deals) are paid more money than Bibby is set to make.
Needless to say this deal is still garbage for the Kings.

You should really watch how the Kings are playing without Bibby, Artest, and Martin. Depth certainly isn't an issue.
And once again the Kings are looking at '09 cap space. Bibby's contract will not hinder that process as it expires, now if we can unload Kenny with him then that changes everything. We could gain 8 million extra for '09.
