Lakers Get: J. Johnson/Gooden/Marshall
Lakers Give: K. Brown/Odom/Crittenton
Cavs Give: Gooden/Marshall/S. Brown/'08 First (Lottery Protected)
Cavs Get: Odom/S. Jones/Crittenton
Hawks Give: J. Johnson/S. Jones
Hawks Get: K. Brown/S. Brown/'08 First from Cavs (Lottery Protected)
Why for Lakers?
They get Joe Johnson who will turn into Kobe's Pippen. Also, Drew Gooden would be the perfect PF for the triangle offense. Donyell Marshall brings some more veteran leadership to a fairly young team.
Why for Cavs?
They get Lamar Odom, who will be a great complement to LeBron. He is extremely versatile, and creates matchup problems for other teams all the time, and he can play the 3 or 4. Shannon Brown isn't gtting any playing time, so they ship him off for a very good young PG prospect in Crittenton, who could backup Boobie and learn from Eric Snow. They get rid of Marshall's contract and get another young big man in Soloman Jones, who doesn't cost a lot.
Why for Hawks?
They realize that they need to start saving money to resign Josh Smith and Josh Childress in the offseason, so they could afford them and so they don't go elsewhere. Josh Childress would step into the starting SG job, and newly acquired Shannon Brown will back him up there. Shannon Brown is a guy that has tons of potential and can jump out of the building. I believe he will be a very good player if he can get some solid minutes. Also, the Hawks get a first round pick from the Cavs in a year that they weren't going to have a first rounder. Kwame Brown also brings some solid interior defense, along with his huge expiring contract.
