If we're trading Shaq, it's going to be to rebuild. Not to take on crap like Stephon Marbury and Ben Wallace. I'd pass on this deal.

What's your point? If we're trading Shaq, it's to rebuild - period!

But Shaq is good, Wallace isnt.

You won't get the pieces to rebuild if you decide to trade Shaq.

Period! - See I can do it too.

So let's trade him for Starbury+Big Ben! That's genius!

Or not...

Then why in the hell would we trade him, along with other valuable pieces, when we could trade the valuable pieces by themselves and actually attempt to rebuild in spite of Shaq?

See why your statement doesn't hold water?

If you're right, why would we negate the value of Jason Williams, Ricky Davis, and Udonis Haslem just to dump Shaq - especially when we don't even save money?

Wouldn't we then, logically, trade those pieces separately for other pieces we could build around, and either just deal with Shaq's contract, or buy him out?

I never said you would do this trade.

I simply said you won't get rebuilding tools by trading Shaq.

That really depends on how you define "rebuilding tools." We could easily shave a year off his deal by trading him for Starbury. In fact, we could probably get a Blount for Malik Rose swap too. So that's definitely a step in the right direction.

I love this forum, cause people make awful trades that involve four teams and only one team benefits.
